Buyer beware - it's nothing close to the original
I discovered this powder by fluke during my trip to Ulta yesterday. Was actually going in to try and snag one of the last original formula powders I could before 2.0 came out. Unfortunately, I was too little, too late. Since this was already on the shelves, though, I figured I'd give it a try. ...

The powder is great but with the new formula, the color changes are not an exact match. I wore NC20 for many years. The new formula says that I should be an NC15 now. It is much darker and not the same color at all. I tried NC13 based on the color description saying it's lighter- nope, too much yellow tint. I'm bummed because I'm just confused now.
Horrible new color match.

I was C40 in the old studiofix powder and it was a perfect match. I've used that for over 10 years and it was beautiful. I was told that translates to C38 in the new studiofix but it's such an ugly yellow color with terrible undertones that does not match olive skin at all. The color is awful. I wish I could return this. I'm sad as I'll have to find a different company after a decade of using the studiofix C40.

As someone with oily skin, powder foundations are my ride or die. I first tried the og studio fix powder last year and I loved it. It was perfectly long wearing & even when I got oily, the pigments never split & collected in my pores. This new formulation is my worst nightmare. Not only do you have to pack on the powder for pigment, but it lacks in oil control. I don't understand how MAC conducted the research for this new formulation's "24 hour oil control" claim. Did y'all only test on people with dry skin? This is horrible. I've given this powder so many tries, I've hit pan and I'm halfway done. And each time, it looks terrible. I hear a lot of people recommend using studio fix spray with this powder, but in my humble opinion, if I need a fixing spray to use a product...then the product doesn't work. Period. After 2 hours, my face looks cakey & even when I blot, the pigment stays collected in my pores. I've never had a problem with my foundation or powder foundation until trying this new formulation. I always have skin prep before applying any makeup & its crazy how I still have problems no matter what I do. I've had this powder since it came out but at this point I just want my money back. I'll stick with my L'Oréal infallible powder foundation. It's the closest thing to the good stuff that og studio fix powder once was!

I looooooooove it

Ok, I have been using studio fix since 1996. I use it all over my face including under my eyes. I use it by its self and I always have used the included sponge. I love studio fix so much, I have never been able to find anything that compares. So was heartbroken when they said they were changing it. I read the reviews and was so disappointed. Well, I finally ran out of my studio fix and had to order the new one. LET ME TELL YOU!!!!! I FREAKING LOVE IT!!!!!. This new formula is so perfect, I absolutely love it! I used it by its self all over my face including under my eyes and eyelids with the included sponge and I am shocked how amazing it is! Please don't listen to other people, try it yourself. Well done MAC! (I'm 52 for reference)
I love it!

I loved it! I really love this new formula of the iconic Studio Fix powder plus foundation and when I shade matched in the story I was in shock when I found that now I am NW15 which is crazy because I used to use in the past formula C35 but I would say that this NW15 is a better match, not too light not too dark, not too warm or orange, not too rosy or cool, is a perfect beige neutral with a little hint of olive yellow undertone. It last me all day and something that I also love is how it makes my skin looks, is not too dry or matte like the last formula, looks very natural and is semi matte, which my combo skin thanks a lot.
