Years ago I wore the pro longwear satin finish foundation and loved it. Since that product is now discontinued I decided to try this one despite being apprehensive about the matte finish. Turns out the finish is actually very natural looking, not too dry. I've been applying it with my fingers and smoothing out with a blender sponge. I like that I can build the foundation up on spots that need extra coverage using a concealer brush. The only thing I don't love about it is the chemical smell. It weirdly reminds me of a hospital...kind of like latex (but I guess I prefer this over heavily perfumed makeup). I definitely recommend getting color matched at a MAC counter in person if you're unsure. If I were picking a shade based off of the images and even the bottle itself, I'd probably end up with something too light.

Opposite of Oil Control
1 star for a pump on the package. 1 star for shade match to my chest (NC10) Minus 3 stars: After 12 hours this foundation is nowhere to be found on my face. I'm 41 and have mature but hormonally oily skin. I sat in an office for 8 hours at 70 degrees all day and it was sunny and 45 degrees on my commute. I did very minimal activity after work, watched TV and folded some laundry. This makeup was already gone on my commute and my skin was already so shiny. I thought MAC was supposed to be this legendary makeup that performers wear? This is going back. It does not live up to the pre-formula change Double Wear. Back on the hunt.

I absolutely love this foundation. My skin is starting to mature and has hyperpigmentation and some acne and it covers it all. It dries down matte and looks flawless and matches my skin tone the best out of any foundation I've tried.
it's so so
The grip powers is great. It definitely doesn't budge, but the smell of this is rough. It's like a rubber band smell don't know how else to describe it. Will I repurchase? more than likely not.
