I may have made a boo boo … I chose my winter shade and not my summer shade lol. When I first seen the shade I thought perfect. Well… when I tried this shade of foundation I played myself. I thought because the summertime weather in Boston hasn't hit in full effect I can still wear a light shade of foundation. I was wrong …. just a bit too light but looks so cute and uniformed. I love how it's easy to blend buildable and lightweight full coverage. The soft matte finish makes the skin look uniformed and skin like. I was so excited to try this foundation. I haven't used a new MAC product in years. I do have normal-dry leaning to dry skin, depending on the season and where I am at in my cycle. Matte formulas are starting to come back in fashion, so I really wanted to give this a go and see if it could work for my skin. I am thrilled to say that this does work well for me if I use really thoughtful skincare to prep. I incorporate a gentle cleanser, milky toner and serum before application. I also prefer to apply with a dent brush. I love that SPF is included, but I do not like the scent of this formula. It does linger a bit. The only way I can describe it is slightly metallic. I don't usually get that from the SPF part of products, so maybe it is due to another ingredient. The formula does lay down nicely with the brush and it sets without powder needed. I do like to lock it in with some setting spray to help make my makeup sweat-proof, but even without it—this lasts all day! It is a natural matte, in my opinion and a great segway back into the matte foundation trend. Wish the scent was better, but oh well. Shade match is impeccable and the formula is pretty. This is my honest review, but I received this product for free from MAC Cosmetics for testing and review purposes.
