A Few Pro Tips Before You Color: Your hair doesn't need to be squeaky-clean, but it should definitely be free of heavy styling products. (They can coat the hair and block the color from working to its maximum.) Hair color and activator should be at room temperature before mixing. Love your linens? Feel free to use a darker towel and pillowcase after the first couple of washes to keep them protected from any color transfer. If your hair is chemically straightened, relaxed, or permed, we recommend waiting two weeks to color after your last chemical treatment.

    Q
My box is missing the instructions. All over the box it says to read the inclosed instructions carefully. Can I please receive these instructions?
    Asked by T
Official Answer By Madison Reed - Syndication
We are so sorry to hear that was not include as it should have been. Step 1: Prep & Mix Begin with dry hair. Comb hair so it is free of any tangles. Divide and clip hair into four separate sections - two in front and two in back. This will make it easier to control the hair while applying your color. Put on the gloves provided in the kit. Puncture the ColorWonder Hair Color Cream tube with the cap and squeeze the entire tube of color into the activator bottle. Replace and tighten the bottle cap and shake it up for 45-60 seconds until fully mixed. Step 2: Apply + Process [Delete the Option that is not applicable for Guest] [OPTION A:] For first time coloring, changing the tone of your current color, or going darker. Starting in the front - apply color all over from roots to ends. Important: Make sure all of your hair is evenly saturated with color. Massage the color in completely with your hands or with a wide tooth comb. Once all of your color is applied, go back and check each section. Look for any spots that look dry and further massage in the color, or add more color if needed.  Set a timer for 20 minutes, put on your processing cap, sit back, and relax. [OPTION B:] For touching up color on hair that is already color-treated. Starting in the front - apply color to the roots and saturate well so the roots are evenly covered. Set a timer for 15 minutes and put on your processing cap. When the time is up, apply the remaining color through the lengths of your hair. Important: Make sure all of your hair is evenly saturated with color. Massage the color in completely with your hands or with a wide tooth comb. Once all of your color is applied, go back and check each section. Look for any spots that look dry and further massage in the color, or add more color if needed.  Set a timer for 5-10 minutes, depending on the desired amount of color change you want to see. Put your processing cap back on, sit back, and relax. Step 3: Rinse, Shampoo + Condition When your processing time is up, rinse your hair until the water runs clear. Wash your hair and lock-in your brilliant color with Madison Reed ColorSolve Shampoo + Conditioner (included in your kit). To achieve maximum color results, ColorWonder is to be applied on dry hair for 20 minutes. Using on damp hair will result in slightly less deposit of pigment since the hair is full of water and this will dilute the pigment.  Please let us know if you have any other questions. Happy coloring! Was this answer helpful to you
    Q
Does the Silver Steel have blue in it so that it could turn my hair blue? I'm almost a year into growing out my gray hair, but have some lowlights as part of a gray blend. I want to diminish brassiness and brighten up the silver, but do NOT want to look purple or blue.
    Asked by JCS
Official Answer By Madison Reed - Syndication
It will have blue undertones. We recommend trying one of our Toning Glazes or Color Therapy Masks to help with unwanted brassy tones. Take a look at the Crema Gloss, Perla Mask and Sorrento Cool Vanilla Toning Glaze. Was this answer helpful to you

Will this dye completely wash out over time or is it a grow out situation? I'm thinking of covering gray, but I'm still about 85% brunette. I've never dyed my hair before.
    Asked by Elsa
Official Answer By Madison Reed - Syndication
Hello! This product will generally shampoo out, though the results can vary depending on your hair’s condition. On more porous or fine hair types, it may leave a visible line of demarcation as the hair grows out.Was this answer helpful to you
    Q
How often can I reapply the hair dye if I wash my hair 2-3 times a week? The last time I used the box was 3 weeks ago and I feel like it has already faded. Do I have to wait longer to prevent damage?

You can color every three weeks. We do recommend applying to new growth for the full processing time and pulling through your ends the last 10 minutes instead of the full processing time. Was this answer helpful to you

    Q
how long does this stuff stay in
    Asked by Chelsea Burns
Official Answer By Madison Reed - Syndication
ColorWonder is our vibrant demi-permanent hair color for an instant vibe shift. ColorWonder can give you a pop of color, boost or darken your existing shade, or blend away the first signs of gray. It does not lighten your hair and your results depend on your current hair color. Plus, it washes out gradually, so you can find "the one for right now” then switch it up on your terms. Depending on your shampoo and hair care routine this can last 25-30 washes. Was this answer helpful to you

Will this make my hair oily or greasy like a gloss or glaze? I have very fine, thin, and oily hair.
    Asked by Hiltop

    Q
Can you mix only half of the product and then mix the other half the next time you need it?
    Asked by rinx
Official Answer By Madison Reed - Syndication
We do not suggest mixing in small portions as this may affect end-results. It’s imperative to your results that enough product is used to fully saturate your strands. If you do mix smaller portions, we strongly suggest using a kitchen scale to get accurate measurements. It is important to make sure to cap the remaining product separately and air-tight for future uses. Was this answer helpful to you

For male hair 5 inches long, how many treatments can I get out of one purchase? Can you confirm this last 60 days if I wash on alternate days?
    Asked by ALBERT
Official Answer By Madison Reed - Syndication
If you have really thick hair you may want to use two to start. However, 5 inches and a average amount of hair, one kit will work. This is designed to gradually fade over time and it will fade faster the more it is shampooed. We recommend a color protecting shampoo and conditioner as well as washing your hair in tepid water. Was this answer helpful to you

Inaccurate color description ruined my hair.

I have been blonde for years. My blonde was a very clean, almost white buttery blonde. I've been thinking about going darker again and decided to try this because it was a demi and not a permanent I was gonna do iconic blonde at first, but I thought well I'll go a little bit darker and do the use U slay Latte because it's formulated for Blonde or light brown hair. Did I make a mistake. 😒The U Slay Latte turned my hair, a quite dark color, but the remarkable part is the fact that it turned it very red. The color is not marketed as a red color, but is rather something that's more of a clean like darker light brown beige color do not use this. It's definitely not the color of any latte I've ever seen and it definitely did not come out anywhere close to the swatch on the box that was shown and now my hair is ruined. I am shocked that it's this dark and this red. 😭 I am very disappointed. If you are a blonde, do not use this if you do not like red do not use this if you wanna look like a clown use this!

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

It's okay… i feel like it doesn't stay i've tried it three times now and my grays come out by the next week. Not sure if i'm doing something wrong or if it's the demi permanent. I don't have many grays i would say about 6-10. Will give it another try and then decide if i continue. Also the color seems a bit darker than I expected.

I loved it initially. The color is perfect. The color did not stick to the grey hair near my ear. The color began fading within 2 weeks. I only wash my hair twice a week, so this seems strange. I have been coloring my hair for 25 years, both at a salon, and at home.

Uconnic Blonde to get Bronde results

    Submitted 11 days ago

    By Kaylee

    From Las Vegas

    Hair Type Wavy Hair

I grabbed iconic Bronde and uconnic blonde. I was going for the look of the Bronde on the box. I did a test strand of Bronde because I was scared it would take too dark. Well it did, not only did it take super dark but it was straight up purple in natural light. So then I did uconnic blonde. Uconnic blonde gave a pretty good dirty blonde/Bronde look. Really happy with the results but just be aware it might take darker than you want so grab one shade lighter!

Uconnic blonde for a dirty blonde/Bronde outcome!
