Most Helpful Positive Review It's not you... it's not using this.
First off, nobody taught me anything about styling hair, applying makeup, or even how clothing sizes worked.
As a teenager and now adult, I grew increasingly more fascinated and obsessed with cosmetics. Being completely self-taught, I've made a few missteps.
I mastered my staple cat-eye liquid eyeliner, foundation, powders, lips, nails, highlighters, blush, brows, blah blah blah... But eyeshadow. I had a very complicated relationship with eyeshadow.
I wanted so badly to use it. I would spend a lot of money on beautiful compacts and pots, MAC, Urban Decay, Lancome-- no drugstore stuff. But no matter what I did, it looked like garbage. Being a traditional artist, I know quite a bit about color theory, blending, feathering, layering etc. While applying eyeshadow isn't the exact same as painting, it's close enough that I couldn't understand why my eyeshadow looked so... bad.
My husband decided to indulge my makeup addiction for my birthday many months ago by gifting me the Urban Decay Vice box. I stared sadly at the beautiful rectangles of pigment. I took out the mascara and eyeliner before putting the box somewhere to be admired but not used.
Fast forward to the recent past. I was cycling out old makeup when I opened the box again and noticed the primer potion. I had forgotten all about it. Dubious, I squeezed a bit on my fingertip and applied it to my lids. I was doing this to justify throwing it away. I had to at least *try* right?
All of the sudden, my eyeshadow looked amazing. Runway professional. The color looked exactly like it looked on the palate. It blended effortlessly, seamlessly. I was so proud of myself, I didn't remove my eye makeup when I went to bed (shh.) The next morning, everything was as if I had just applied it.
This is a stupid long review, but I wanted to get it across that this stuff WORKS. It's *absolutely* worth it. I wouldn't even bother wearing eyeshadow without it. If you have a hard time with eye makeup, it may not be you. This is a great example of where product really makes a difference.

I'm done trying to make this work!
I've used the original for years, but the anti-age formula seemed like a good idea, and the fact that it was UD made me feel comfortable about buying something new.
Maybe I got a bad batch, but this primer is not at all what it claims to be, and in my opinion no where near how the original performs! Plus I didn't really see any benefit as far as the anti-age claim.
First, you have to wait a while for it to set, if you try to apply your shadow right away it can be a little too tacky and you wont get a smooth application. This really doesn't bother me, I typically apply it first.
Once it's set the shadows look great, blend perfectly and look smooth, which is great. But the staying power is totally off compared to the Original formula. For me this creases around the 6th hour and I have to reapply/blend the crease out. I do have oily lids, so I'll put that out there, but it's just not what I'm used to, especially for the price. I've had it too long now to return it, so keep your receipt if you decide to try it out!

I've used this primer in the past and really liked it. Unfortunately something has changed with the formula and not for the better. It made my eyelids look very wrinkled!!! Very unattractive to say the least.
No more creases

Buying my third tube. My eyeshadow creases so badly. It can be a hot sweaty day and my eyeshadow doesn't move with this. Once the tube starts to get empty, I notice that it starts to dry and blend a little patchy and the eyeshadow does stick to those areas, but nothing else works on my sort-of-hooded-eyes
Love this product!

Been using this product for years! Keeps eye makeup smooth looking and looks great all day long!
My holy grail
MM from MA
When I turned 40 the skin around my eyes changed. I stopped wearing power on my face and moved to using creams with setting spay. My skin loved it but around my eyes was creasing and driving me crazy, so one day I applied a small amount under my eyes and let me tell you it has changed my life. I no longer have any creasing and my under eye make stays put all day with out fail and never feels dry.

I put it a n with the tip of our fingers. Is clear but it does last and makes your eyeshadow look flawless.
Burns and gets "gummy" but shadow does stay fresh looking
LB from US
This primer burns my eyelids for about 20 to 30 minutes after I apply. If you're not careful it can get gummy in some areas even after blending it evenly which then causes eyeshadow to look cakey or streaky. It does prevent the shadow from sliding off on my oily eyelids and my eye makeup stays fresh looking all day. If the burning sensation could be addressed I'd like it better.
Best primer for eyelids

This keeps everything from creasing. I love that it has anti aging factors built into the formula. I wear falsies everyday and they stay put too.
Good product, for a while

This product works well for a while, maybe three months or so. It's a little thick but it evens out nicely with enough blending. However, I have used this product and repurchased it several times due to it drying out. It becomes very thick after a while and doesn't blend in at all. If you swipe it across your lid, it will leave a mark and eyeshadow will not be blendable on top of it. Again, it works well, but only for the first three months or so. I would only recommend this to someone who uses it daily and will be able to use it up quickly.
I would buy this again.

I apply to eyelids to prime area before application of eyeshadow. Keeps eyeshadow on all day.

Easy to apply and kept my shadow in well in the heat while chasing a toddler

I wouldn't buy it again.
Works well, doesn't drop colours

I generally use this as a base for liquid eye liners to keep it from sweating off my hooded lids. Holds it in place for around 24 hours, with eye shadows I'd say it holds for 10 hours before splitting into lines on my creases. Good price and tune doesn't empty for months even with everyday use.
Doesn't hurt the eyelid

All other concealers no matter how expensive have made my eyelids red this is the first one that has not it's too soon to tell I've been using it less than a week but so far so good. It's rather thin and doesn't appear to have much in it but we'll see how how long it will last.
I regret not buying this sooner!

I use it after face primer and foundation. It leaves no creases, absolutely love.
Not worth the money!

I've tried the other UD primers, and have always been impressed. I needed new eyeshadow primer and The anti-aging formula was the only kind available at my Ulta, so I thought I'd give it a try. Well...no wonder it was the only kind left. It's terrible. It does not last, and it will leave you will a greasy crease after awhile for sure. It feels nice when you're applying it at first, but it stays tacky for awhile making it hard to apply eye shadow after applying because it will grab inconsistently.

I have really oily eyelids and the rest of my face is super dry. It's ridiculous. Without primer or concealer, my eyeshadow or eyeliner would come off pretty easily and my eyeliner transfers to the top of my lid almost every time. This product kept my lids matte and kept make up from creasing or transferring allll day. I've used other eyeshadow primers before that were too greasy or still creased but this one is perfect.
My favorite beauty product - hands down
Deborah from Wilton, IA
Without this product, my eyeshadow melts away. With it, it lasts all day. I couldn't live without it.

I'm 41 and have hooded eyes. My shadow and liner never holds up very well, it all ends up in the crease. When I bought this, I thought it wouldn't work because it felt really greasy when I put it on. Still, I waited a few seconds for it to dry and applied my makeup as usual. I went to work for 9hrs and my shadow and liner stayed in place, looking fresh the entire night! Will definitely be buying more.
I used to love it
Fanchera from Illinois
I have used this for at least 8 years. One tube will last for several months. This last time I bought it, it broke my eyelids out in hives. I'm not sure if UD changed their formula but I had never had this reaction before. Ulta was wonderful about accepting a return. Now I need to find a primer that I loved like I used to love this one!
Eyeshadow still creases
Missy from St Johns, FL
I usually use the original Urban Decay primer and decided to try the antiaging one. I have used it daily for a week and every day within an hour my eyeshadow creases. I have tried letting it dry longer than I normally did with the original but no change. This seems to have too much of a liquid rather than thicker effect like their original product. I will not use this again.
Not Worth the Hype or Expense
Krissy from Alabama, USA
I've always wanted to try this product, but I couldn't justify the cost. However, I was able to pick it up during the 21 Days of Beauty. I am so glad I didn't pay full price for this, what a disappoint! It does not have close to the staying power of the cheaper products that I typically use. Save your money and find a cheaper more effective product!
The_Jess from Long Island, NY
This is the best eyeshadow concealer I have ever used. I have extremely oily eyelids and this products counteracts the oil beautifully! My eyeshadow stays crisp and cress-less the entire day! My eyelids don't like a day over 10 years old either! Ha, I don't if the "anti-aging" is a thing, but it terms of primers this one is the holy grail for me. I won't ever use another.
bmelko from Detroit, MI
I use this daily and I love it. It works really well at preventing creasing, but you do need to apply and blend it immediately. It isn't drying and it holds up all day long. If you're looking for an eyeshadow primer, this is the one to buy.
Works Well for Hooded Eyes!
