Gentle, high-quality, unscented, targets acne

*I received this product for free and tried it for myself. All of my opinions honest and my own. La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo 4% Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser is a total game-changer for anyone seeking a good Benzoyl Peroxide cleanser. It is comparable to the viral "Panoxyl," which is also a Benzoyl Per...

I really wanted this cleanser to work. It was my understanding that this cleanser was a "replacement" for the Step-3 Duo Dual Action Acne Treatment cream for the Effaclar line. [I received this product in exchange for my honest review] I recently started using the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo Dual Action Acne Cleanser, and I'm thoroughly impressed with its performance! The standout feature for me is the 4% Benzoyl Peroxide, which is a key acne treatment that I've been prescribed by my dermatologist. It's great to see this active ingredient in a cleanser because it not only helps clear up existing acne blemishes but also works to prevent new breakouts. I started to get horrible acne after stopping birth control, and this cleanser has been a lifesaver in helping to manage it. The cleanser itself is gentle yet effective. It doesn't dry out my skin, which can sometimes happen with acne treatments, and it leaves my skin feeling clean and refreshed without any irritation. After using it consistently, I've noticed a significant improvement in the clarity of my skin, with fewer blemishes and less redness

I really wanted this cleanser to work. It was my understanding that this cleanser was a "replacement" for the Step-3 Duo Dual Action Acne Treatment cream for the Effaclar line. I really do wish that La Roche Posay would reformulate that cream. The original 3 step system was perfect for my skin and now I'm back to breaking out at 34 yrs old, like I did when I was 15 and stressing about it isn't helping. I've never done well with cream cleansers as a combo-oily, sensitive skin user. I don't feel that they penetrate well enough through daily oil and grime, even after doing an oil/makeup removing cleanser. With that said, only using the SA Cleanser and Toner with the retinoid gel as a substitute step 3 isn't cutting it - I also add in Niacinamide, Hyaluronic Acid and Retinol serums into that regimen. However, in an effort to use up the bottle (since this is a higher cost brand), I've been using the cream cleanser in the mornings and the gel cleanser in the evenings. I haven't seen a change in the last 3-4 months since I bought it. LRP has been really good to my skin in the last 5-6 years, and I really hope they are working to reformulate the BP cream to move back to the original 3-step system for the Effaclar line. I really don't want to have to do research for another skin care brand and go through the whole process again of seeing if it works.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend
