- Q
Can it be used with BHA/AHA in the same routine?
- Asked by Yun
- Official Answer By Anua - Brand EngageThank you for your question. You can absolutely use the Azelaic Acid 10 Hyaluron Redness Soothing Serum together with AHA or BHA in the same routine. These ingredients can complement each other when used properly — helping to smooth skin texture, calm redness, and support overall clarity. For best results, we recommend applying the AHA/BHA toner first, allowing it to absorb fully, and then following with the Azelaic Acid serum. This sequence helps maintain effectiveness while minimizing any potential irritation. As with any active ingredients, if your skin is new to exfoliants, you may start by using them on alternate days and gradually increase frequency as your skin adjusts. Was this answer helpful to you
- Q
Can it be used with retinol in the same routine?
- Asked by Yun
- Official Answer By Anua - Brand EngageThank you for reaching out to us. Our Azelaic Acid 10 Hyaluron Redness Soothing Serum can generally be used alongside retinol, as both ingredients target different skin concerns and can complement each other. However, since both azelaic acid and retinoids can be active ingredients, we recommend introducing them gradually and using them at different times of the day — for example, applying the azelaic acid serum in the morning and retinol/retinal in the evening. This approach helps minimize potential irritation, especially for sensitive skin. If you experience dryness, redness, or discomfort, please reduce the frequency of use and ensure your skin is well-moisturized.Was this answer helpful to you

How does this Soothing Serum compare to the Rice Ceramide Hydraring Barrier Serum when it comes to dealing with sensitivity and reducing inflammation?
- Asked by Tina
- Official Answer By Anua - Brand EngageThank you for reaching out to us! Both serums are suitable for sensitive skin, but they work in slightly different ways. The Azelaic Acid 10 Hyaluron Redness Soothing Serum is formulated to calm redness and visibly reduce inflammation, making it ideal for easily irritated or acne-prone skin. Meanwhile, the Rice Ceramide Hydrating Barrier Serum focuses on restoring moisture and strengthening the skin barrier to help prevent future sensitivity. If your main concern is managing redness and inflammation, we recommend starting with the Azelaic Acid serum. If you have any further questions, feel free to let us know - we’re here to help. Was this answer helpful to you
- Q
Should this product be used during the day or night? Is there also other skincare products you shouldn't use at the same time with the serum? Like a vitamin c, AHA/BHA or a retinol? Also, since this product has exfoliating properties should you avoid using a physical exfoliant while using this product?
- Asked by Meow meow
- Official Answer By Anua - Brand EngageThank you for your question about our Azelaic Acid 10 Hyaluron Redness Soothing Serum. This serum can be used both morning and night. If your skin is sensitive or new to azelaic acid, we recommend starting once daily in the evening, then gradually increasing to twice daily as your skin adjusts. It can be used in the same routine with AHA/BHA, as these ingredients complement each other when layered properly. For best results, apply your AHA/BHA toner first, let it absorb, and then follow with the Azelaic Acid serum. However, to minimize potential irritation, we recommend avoiding high-strength Vitamin C or Retinol in the same routine. These can be alternated between AM and PM use instead. Since the serum already provides mild exfoliation, we also advise not to combine it with physical exfoliants, as this may over-exfoliate the skin. Was this answer helpful to you

- Q
Is this okay to use on ezcema/fungal acne prone skin? I have super sensitive and reactive skin.
- Asked by Charlene
- Official Answer By Anua - Brand EngageThank you for reaching out and sharing details about your skin concerns. The ANUA Azelaic Acid 10 Hyaluron Redness Soothing Serum is formulated to help improve skin texture, uneven tone, and visible redness. It contains 10% azelaic acid, known for its brightening and mildly exfoliating properties, as well as hyaluronic acid, panthenol, and allantoin to support skin hydration and barrier care — which can be beneficial for sensitive and dry/combination skin types. That said, since you mentioned fungal acne, it’s important to note that some ingredients (especially fermented or certain fatty components) may not be well tolerated in such conditions. While azelaic acid itself is often recommended for various skin issues including texture and sensitivity, we advise exercising caution and performing a patch test before full application. For personalized guidance, especially regarding fungal acne, we also suggest consulting a dermatologist. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need further information! Was this answer helpful to you

- Q
Can I use this while using trentinoin?
- Asked by Tatiana
- Official Answer By Anua - Brand EngageThank you for your interest in our ANUA Azelaic Acid 10 Hyaluron Redness Soothing Serum. The ANUA Azelaic Acid 10% + Hyaluron Redness Soothing Serum can generally be incorporated into a routine that includes tretinoin, as azelaic acid is often well-tolerated and complements retinoid use by helping with redness, pigmentation, and overall skin clarity. However, since both ingredients can potentially cause dryness or irritation—especially when used together - it’s best to: • Start slowly, using the serum on alternate nights or in the morning if tretinoin is applied at night. • Moisturize well to support your skin barrier. • Monitor your skin’s response, and adjust usage if you notice increased sensitivity. As always, consulting with your dermatologist for personalized advice is recommended when combining actives like these. - Q
Is this a good product to tackle hyperpigmentation/dark spots?
- Asked by Verynice
- Official Answer By Anua - Brand EngageThank you for your interest in the ANUA Azelaic Acid 10% Hyaluron Redness Soothing Serum. This serum is formulated with 10% azelaic acid, a multifunctional ingredient known for its ability to calm redness, improve skin texture, and support a more even skin tone. While it may help with hyperpigmentation over time, its primary strength lies in soothing irritation and reducing visible signs of inflammation — making it a great option for those with sensitive or redness-prone skin. However, for more visible results in fading hyperpigmentation and dark spots, we would recommend trying our ANUA Niacinamide 10% + TXA 4% Serum. This targeted brightening formula combines niacinamide with tranexamic acid, both well-researched ingredients that work synergistically to reduce dark spots, post-acne marks, and uneven skin tone more effectively. If you’d like help choosing between the two based on your skin type or concerns, feel free to let us know — we’re always happy to assist! Was this answer helpful to you

Did not agree with my skin
As I have aged I have begun to get more redness that tends to occur after cleansing. I am always searching for a good product that can calm my skin down. Game changer for acne
I added this into my routine specifically for redness, which I get pretty bad on my cheeks. Not only has it helped with redness, but it has really cut down on my break outs. My skin is so much smoother and clearer since using this daily in the morning for about 2 months. I am going to try an azelaic acid by medicube that is a little stronger, but if I dont like it, I will most definitely come back to this one!
Amazing
I never leave product reviews but this just cleared up a terrible breakout so fast that I actually wanted to. Redness and raised uncomfortable pimples without a head are almost completely gone after a few days with a few drops. I purchased after seeing an dermatologist on insta recommend it. Worked great for my very sensitive skin
YOU WONT REGRET
This serum have worked wonders for my skin (oily, acne prone) my redness from my cheeks have gone away, it has calmed down all my redness from my face and i have no currently breakouts and my skin just likes it so much! I was hesitant to buy it because it was "trending" on tik tok but i finally did and it is now a staple in my routine!
Unfortunately tacky
I really wanted to love this product, and it had such great reviews. Unfortunately, it left my face extremely tacky/sticky and made my face feel so gross. I couldnt have a no-make-up day because if I didn't put my powder on it was just sticky and I felt like I looked greasy. I went with anither brand's azelaic acid thats in a cream formula and I much prefer that.
The only serum you will ever need
Use it !!!
