I was on the hunt for a more afforable hard hold gel. I previously used Curl Smith in shower styling gel on top of a styiling cream. This gel is as close as it gets to the curl smith one with out breaking the bank. Yes, it will leave a hard cast aka crunch. Break it with an oil and viola, touchable, flake free curls that will last!

I live this strong gel! I have fine 3a hair and this holds and doesnt weigh down my hair. I get several days out if it!!

I love this gel for this price point. It works better with the curl talk defining curl creme. However, it will pair with other products. This gel has a crunch but it is easy to scrunch out and does not make your hair matted. I think this gel has far better hold than their other gel. I have not tried their new custard, but as a wavy, my hair does not like custards.
