- Official Answer By Tigi - Brand EngageThis is a great question. Apply Curls Rock Amplifier to damp hair, comb through, shape hair with fingers then let air dry. If you like to diffuse, you will find that as you're initially setting hair it will become firm. But that's what you want because you're actually controlling or sealing the frizz. I'm looking for something good for holding curls with hot rollers. I loved redken spray starch because it held my curls until I washed my hair, but my hair was soft and didn't look/ feel like I had product in it. I cannot fond anything comparable.

I am African/American with thick hair that normally needs lots of curl enhancing products to maintain a curly frizz free style. I love the look I get with this product however it makes my hair hard and crunchy even when I mix it with lots of oil. Hello, I am considering getting this product but had a question about it. I have VERY thin hair that has a very slight wave to it--not really a curl. (For example, if I don't brush it after showering and just scrunch it a bit it dries a little way/frizzy.) I'm looking for a product to enhance the wave as well as give volume and tame the frizz. I have always had a difficult time finding a hair product that works for me and isn't overpowering in smell as I get headaches easily. I loooove the OLD Curls Rock Amplifier but since they changed to the Curlesque, I can no longer use it as the new smell is too much for me. I am not sure what to use as the old amplifier is becoming harder and harder to find. I have very curly red hair...any suggestions for creams that are similar to the old amplifier would be greatly appreciated. thank you!

It's OK
Soft, not sticky. Rinses off hands quickly and easily. Definitely improves and enhances curls. (incl. your cowlicks). Doesn't seem to offer any hold, however if it enhances the curl, it will hold the natural shape. It's ok. I used a diffuser and finger styled. Not bad, but I've had better.

My go to for years
Hair Type Very Curly Hair
I have very long, coarse, going grey, curly hair. This curl cream gives really nice slip for brush styling while soaking wet, and then scrunch squishing my curls. It helps define curls, and holds nicely. I like this version better than the newer one in lime green pump. I will keep buying this cream forever, so they better not stop making it. This cream is not for straight hair, it will not help straight or wavy hair curl, just to respond to others reviews I've seen complaining. But if you have very curly hair, it helps smooth, define, and reduce frizz. Not sure how well it would work on fine curly hair, because my hair is very coarse and thick, so I can only speak for my hair. To give you an idea of how thick my hair is, I have to use a total of 9 pumps (hair separated into 3 sections, 3 pumps each section) on soaking wet hair to get the best results. I buy 2 bottles at a time.

I've been using this for years. I never had wavy hair until my last child. Whether I want bigger waves or smaller ones (depending on how much I apply) it holds the wavy curls. I always get compliments about how my hair smells so good!

I love with this does to for my hair. But I think they should warn you what it does to your clothes and towels. It stains them quickly and permanently. You sure you use old towels and keep your wet hair off of your shirt.
