old formula was super drying, damaging, too harsh because iirc it had SLS (sodium LAURYL sulfate, that's the bad one. sodium LAURETH sulfate is fine and wayyyy more gentle). old formula was super basic too not much different than pantene, which I hate. this new formula is actually SALON QUALITY like it should be for the price. I can see lots of people r saying they hate the new stuff because it doesnt lather as well or clean as well. well duh, they (thankfully!) got rid of the harsh stripping SLS! if SLS works for u than I can see why ur upset about the change, but i hate and cannot use SLS on a regular basis. only to clarify occasionally, plus now it has so many more nourishing ingredients so i for one am happy. it doesnt claim to be a shampoo for OILY hair, it's for it's for fine hair, and fine hair is usually fragile, so this is a great improvement imo. but I think they should make one for oily hair with a formula like the old version of this to satisfy fans of the old version who say this new one isnt cleansing enough. I have fine wavy hair but TONS of it and this is great for me, does not weigh my hair down at all and gives me natural volume but I DO NOT have an oily scalp, am not particularly acne prone (tho I do sometimes get cystic acne on my scalp from certain products-usually from too much dimethicone in shampoo/conditioner, and this does not cause that problem). the only negative where I do agree with everyone complaining about the new formula and also why I knocked off a star, is THE OLD SMELL WAS WAY BETTER. I really dont understand why they couldn't keep the old smell, it was amazing and made me want to use the old formula even tho it was too harsh. everyone loved the original smell, it was legendary. why change that? :( it would be so easy to change the formula but just keep the smell and I don't know anyone who disliked the original scent...
I LOVED Wella Brilliance and used it religiously for over 6 years. When I saw the reformulated line, I was discouraged but decided to give it a shot. I am so disappointed! My hair isn't nearly as soft or shiny, and the new scent is cloying and clashes with itself. PLEASE bring back the dark red Wella Brilliance! I am now shopping other brands after using Wella exclusively in my hair for half a decade. :(

Please bring back the old formula!! I don't understand why it can't be an additional option for customers to purchase. I have tried a ton of other products since y'all changed the formula and nothing compares, but I refuse to use this new formula. Please please bring back the old formula. It was so much better and smelled WAY better. Always kept my hair feeling fresh and smelling great. I will continue to check the site in hopes that y'all eventually bring it back. I, and from the looks of theses reviews, many others will become your customer again.

This new formula makes me so unhappy! My hair is even unhappier. I don't like the way hair feels and I hate the scent!
Bring back the old formula, I loved it.

I keep coming back to see if the old formula has returned and I'm so disappointed to see it has not made a come back! I have tried so many other products and nothing comes close! I have been a customer for 5+ years until the ingredient change. The smell and texture dont even come close to comparing to the old product. Give the people what they want! Bring it back!

I've been using Wells Brillance for years and this new Invigo is terrible. The smell of this one is just awful and it doesn't make my hair as soft as the original formula.

For a few years I used the original shampoo- even got my family and friends hooked on it as well. It was amazing. Smelled amazing and left my hair so hydrated and healthy. I want to say the formula changed a little over a year ago, and I wound up buying the 'invigo' line thinking it was the same thing. I was extremely disappointed. I just couldn't get over the smell of the product, and in addition the new formula really dried out my hair. I maybe used 1/3 of the bottle before deciding to trash it (which is something I normally would never do,b it was that bad), and I haven't purchased Wella since. I regularly check the site to see if they have brought back the original formula, and just decided to finally write a review since it seems that I'm not the only one feeling this way. For the last year, I've been shampoo hopping and still have yet to find a good replacement! Wish you guys would bring back the original.

I have used this brand for over a year which is when it was introduced to me. This shampoo leaves my hair so fresh and so clean as a shampoo is supposed to but it also leaves my hair easier to comb out after I follow it with its matched conditioner. And it smells great too!

Great product wella

I had been using the original wella and had some stocked up. I just ran out and had purchased the new formula. It is the worst shampoo I have ever used and the smell is horrible. I will never buy this again. Bring back the old formula!

Never buy this product! It burned my skin!!!

The old version of this formula used to be in my shower for years but after trying the 'invigo' one I'm really turned off. It does not perform or smell like the old formula and that's a bad thing. Can't recommend and will not repurchase unless they bring back the old line.

I was looking everywhere to find my favourite shampoo Wella Brillance - microlight crystal complex, with diamond powder, now i read it's been discontinued :( What a shame. Please bring it back!

I loved the old formula!! This new formula makes my hair smell like mold! I will not buy again.

I have to use A LOT of this shampoo to get any kind of lather. I don't like the smell of this new formula either. Really disappointed. The old formula was perfect. I'll be looking for an alternative.

This new version doesn't even come close to the original Formula. It leaves my hair feeling like it has a film on it.
I am so disappointed that the original has been discontinued. It took me years to find the perfect shampoo and now I'm back to square one.
Not sure how Wella can even keep the same name on this formula since it is completely different from the original. So disappointing!!!
Kae from Colorado
The smell is amazing and it leaves my hair feeling so soft!

Was really excited to try this product as my hairdresser uses this line; however, I was disappointed in the formula of both the shampoo & conditioner-neither are as rich of feel as moisturizing as other brands I use. Also the shampoo doesn't lather great. :(

I used this for a long time. Both the old and new formula. My hair looked terrible while using these. Soo many split ends. I used so many of their hair masks to try to save it and nothing mattered. I have it two stars because it didn't make my color terribly brassy or seem to ruin my dye job, but it terms of hair health? A solid no. I have thin fine hair and this did nothing to add bounce and body. My ends looked awful and my hair looked dull.

I have been looking all over for the original Wella ad finally got on their site today, only to see the other reviews confirming they changed their product. My entire household (4 females) used this religiously. PLEASE BRING IT BACK!
Mackenzie from Indiana
The old formula was amazing and I used it for years... now I've been on a long hunt to find a new shampoo I like just as much.
Why change such an amazing product???
Lizzy from Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Why do they change the products, does not smell the same. Will never buy Wella again, until the bring back original product back.
Jamie V from Green Bay, WI
This new formulas does not smell as good as the old one and does not work anywhere near as well as the old formula.
Anna from Washington
I don't know why they changed the formula. Why try and fix what isn't broken? The new formula doesn't work like the old and doesn't smell good. Not worth the money anymore. If they change it back I'll buy again
Mags from Michigan
I used to LOVE this Wella shampoo. One day I noticed they changed the color of the bottle. I didn't think they'd be changing the scent of it. It smells like a manly Christmas tree. I had to give the shampoo to someone because the scent was horrible!!! It's probably been about a year or two since I've used Wella. I really wish they would go back to their old formula.

I don't know why the need for a new formula. The new one pales in comparison. I am so disappointed in the new formula. The old one smelled amazing, gave my limp hair body and volume. The new formula not only is inferior to the old formula, it's inferior to most lines of shampoo.
