Most Helpful Positive Review very gentle!
This makeup remover is perfect for me. I like to be thorough so I usually use up to 4 cotton rounds soaked with this stuff to remove all of my makeup. It is especially helpful for me because I am clinically depressed and am often out of energy to do much in the way of taking care of myself, and this I can do from bed. It has also been super helpful with evening out my skin tone and texture. Not sure if that is an intended benefit, but it's definitely welcome!
Most Helpful Critical Review Oily.
I've been using the micellar water with the green cap since I have oily skin and I love it.
My local store didn't have that one in stock so I picked up the one with the blue cap and I wish I hadn't. There's a layer of oil that just sits on top and it doesn't help to shake the bottle. This one makes my face feel even more greasy and I have to wash my face after using it. I thought it says oil free?? I'm just going to stick with the green capped one from now on.

I love this but it feels a little oily so people with oily skin I don't suggest this to you and it kind of make my eyes tingle a little bit.
Be weary if you have very sensitive skin
E from NYC
Takes off waterproof mascara decently with a bit of rubbing and a cotton pad, but very bad for those with sensitive skin. I have very sensitive skin to the point where scented products make me break out in eczema patches, and this product did just that. I had an eczema flare up on my eyes after using this product and it hurts so badly. The bad reaction has lasted for over a month despite me not using it anymore. This has worked well for many people, but I'm gonna have to pass on this product. Just be weary if you have extremely sensitive skin! :(
basic, good for makeup and sunscreen

its a good, basic, water-based first cleanse. you have to shake it a lot, or it separates and gets oily.
Drowning in oil
TieraBrianne from League City, TX
This cleanser left my face feeling disgusting after each use. I would have to rewash my face after a few hours because I was dripping with oil. Also didn't remove makeup or mascara very well. I couldn't recommend this product to anyone
Love Love LOVE this product

What is there to say! Great remover for all types of makeup and does not cause any skin damage, perfect for all skin types.
Best make-up remover
Elxis from NJ
I've used so many different types of make-up removers and I have to say this is the best one, hands down. Gets rid of EVERYTHING!
My one and only
Love from USA
I needed makeup remover that wouldn't irritate my skin or cause me to break out, require harsh rubbing or be on a cloth/thick pad. I've tried a vast array of different brands (Almay, neutrogena, Lancôme, you name it I've probably tried it), not to mention every variation in this line of cleansers; all I can say is WOW, I'll never use anything else so long as this is on the market. I've been using it for years now and am still amazed at how well it works. I can remove waterproof eyeliner, mascara, and lipstick products with ease. You must hold a cotton pad saturated in the product over the desired area for at least 10 seconds to loosen up the makeup underneath, otherwise it won't work properly. You must shake it before every use and try not to use too much. Reviewers saying they feel greasy afterwards should try using before cleansing...this stuff needs a little extra oomph for the tough waterproof products. It may take some finessing for it to work for you, but it is 100% worth it and the best product of its kind.
I also had a bad reaction
Amber from U.S.
As far as taking off my sunscreen and makeup, I thought it performed pretty well. After using the micellar water as a first cleanse, I then went it with my foaming facial cleanser to remove any feeling of the micellar water. That being said, I would definitely use a second cleanser to remove the greasy/sticky feeling left behind. Which is fine because you're supposed to double cleanse at night anyways.
Unfortunately, the next morning after using the micellar water for the first time, I noticed dry, red, irritated skin at the corners of my eyes. After multiple days of using the micellar water, I noticed my reaction getting worse around my eyes as far as dryness, and then the sides of my nose also began to become irritated.
This obviously works for a lot of people so I'm upset that it didn't work for me. Especially since I've never experienced irritation or sensitivity to a product before. It's now being used to clean my bathroom counter.
Id rather buy the non water proof one

I bought the pink bottle and absolutely loved it. Well, when I needed more the store was out so I bought this one. It works don't get me wrong, but I have to scrub my face afterwards, because it leaves me face oily.

This product removes all makeup from natural to colorful. I put it on my makeup eraser cloth and it works soo good!

Okay so this does remove makeup very well however, it leaves me feeling so greasy it repulses me. I literally used this for a month and gave up on it because I couldn't get over how my skin felt after I used it.
Sreeja from Virginia
I LOVE this sooo much. It removed my makeup soo fast, there wasn't any harsh rubbing and I didn't get any rashes. Usually with makeup wipes I get a little red but it didn't happen with this. I always use waterproof mascara so this is perfect to remove it and my mascara got removed fast and no lashes got ripped out!! I would 100% recommend to a friend!!!
Been Using For 5 Years!

ABSOLUTELY LOVE this product! I've been using this since since high school. It takes off my waterproof mascara perfectly! (I've only ever used waterproof mascara and this beauty has been through every mascara find/test I've gone through) I like to soak a cotton pad with it and hold it up against my lashes for a good minute or two (so that I'm not pulling my eyelashes off) while I'm scrolling through insta or finding a good song. After I let it sit, I gently rub and it comes off! I then gently rub my lashes on wherever there's still clean space on the pad to get the last remaining bits off. I used to use this for my face make up as well before my daily cleanser but I have now switched to double cleansing with and oil. But it does help take off face makeup as well!
My FAVORITE Makeup Remover!
Manxi from California
LOVE this stuff, it's far superior to their pink bottle of micellar water. I don't need to do a lot of rubbing to remove waterproof mascara, eyeliner, or lipstick.

The best makeup remover everrrr! Its so soothing and removes all makeup. Read the directions before you use it. Pour some on a cotton pad or reusable face cloth and put it where you want the makeup removed and leave on for 10 secs before rubbing. Trust me it makes all the difference!
Becky from Stratford,CT
Tried this for the first time and loved it. Takes off water proof mascara. Works great on my skin. Haven't had no issues with brake out of r anything.
I love this! It removes my makeup soo well
Kate from Bay Area, CA
I apply a decent amount to my reusable "cotton" rounds, and it removes makeup really easy. I also apple it to a Q-tip for removing eyeliner or mascara. it works really well. I originally bought the rose one, which gave me irritation, but the fragrance free on is awesome. Even with this micellar water, my skin feels a little bit dry and pretty tight, but as long as I wash my face with my usual face wash after using it, my skin feels great.
The other styles are better
JessD from Des Moines, Ia
This one would be ok if I hadn't tried the other ones but it just feels so greasy comparatively. I would ditch this 'waterproof remover' one and stick with an actual eye make-up remover as they work better and this irritates my eye. It removes make-up just as well as the other versions (not better) but leaves a greasy feeling after. Would not recommend and will not buy again (will be sticking with the pink capped one from now on).
Removes waterproof comfortably
Purple Eyes from Oregon
I recently got my first bottle of this and am very happy with it. Some of my waterproof mascaras seem to remove better when I hold a wet pad against them for a couple seconds before wiping. Once saturated all the makeup removes easily but it may take a couple wipes depending how heavy your makeup is layered on. It's very comfortable and doesn't sting or irritate my skin. I love that I don't need to rinse, though I often use a cleansing balm afterwards anyways. It doesn't leave my skin feeling oily or dried out. The best bang for your buck makeup remover out there.
Doesn't work as advertised
Izzy from Brooklyn NY
I mostly was using this to take off my eye make up and it just doesn't work. It will take off the initial layer of whatever is on my eyes, but when I wash my face, I have raccoon eyes. I still will have black make up all underneath my eyes and I am only wearing liquid eyeliner, mascara and stick liner on my waterline. On top of that, it irritates my eyelid like no other. It leaves a white ashy looking film and once I get that off, there is major redness, irritation and skin flakiness.
I do find that this works great for sharpening my wing and removing eyelash glue but that's about it. I would recommend it for that, but nothing else.
worked fine but a bad reaction!!
Trish from MD
I use a separate, gel-to-oil cleanser to remove my face makeup. I have been using Garnier's micellar water for years for my eye makeup, and had switched to a more difficult-to-remove mascara, so I figured it was time to switch to the waterproof remover (this blue cap one). I was immediately impressed by how easily everything glided off, but a few weeks into it I began to have a raised red rash around my eyes. It was bumpy, but didn't seem to be particularly dry or painful, though very unsightly and makeup didn't do much to cover it. After researching, the closest I could compare it to was periocular/periorbital dermatitis. It got better when school finished (coincidentally, also the time I stopped wearing makeup and thus removing it as often) so I chalked it up to stress. It came back with a vengeance when I began work again and started wearing makeup, and it finally clicked when I realized it was more irritated for about an hour after removing makeup every night. Long story short, I switched back to the pink cap non-waterproof version and the reaction has almost totally disappeared in the span of a week. I'm not sure what ingredient it was that caused the reaction, but it seems many have had similar experiences.

I don't think it did the best job. I think that it helped for face makeup, not so much for anything on my eyes and it definitely doesn't get everything. I had gotten the smallest bottle and you go through it really quickly. I just recently bought the Universal Cleansing Balm from Derma-E and OMG that is what you need for removing makeup!

I decided to finally try this and purchased a small 3 oz at Ulta the other day. I use either Farmacy or Clinique cleansing balm to remover my sunscreen and makeup and thought this would be somewhat similar in removing products from my face. I was wrong. This would hardly remove anything and I had to tug with a cotton pad to get my makeup to slightly come off. I tried it on two occasions to make sure I gave it a fair shot. Sadly this isn't for me. Not to mention I paid double the price compared to my local grocery.
Raven from Ca
Was very surprised that I got a major reaction to this product. Face broke out was red and irritated was very painful and has taken about a week to clear up. I have never had a reaction to anything and don't have sensitive skin and no allergies. Was surprised to do a search and see many same stories as mine including burns.

I love this product! It does such a good job at taking off all my makeup even waterproof.
