Love this face wash
Love this. It took me a couple uses to adjust to it, as I've never used a cleanser like it before. It's like a thin lotion. I dampen my face before using it, and I do use a damp cloth to gently wipe off what remains after washing my face. My skin is clean *and* moisturized after using, which is awes...

Hydrating but caused closed comedones
I tried a new face serum which destroyed my skin, leaving it red and stinging. I needed something more soothing so I tried this cleanser. It felt like i was rubbing in lotion and didnt feel clean when i tissued it off. I ended up rinsing if off. It left a film but skin felt hydrated. To remove makeup, i found that if i used a wet soft washcloth to remove , it would take off my light makeup. My face started to heal and was less oily. Unfortunately after a week i noticed closed comedones popping up. Probably from the residue left on my skin despite rinsing well. It was hydrating for me but also very comedogenic as well. So on to search for another gentle cleanser.
Good on sensitive eczema skin!
This is the only face wash I've been able to find that doesn't irritate my sensitive eczema skin. It also soothes my face when it's irritated. This stuff is amazing!

Acne, eczema, dryness
I have serious cystic acne (only held in check by rounds of medication every 10 years or so), as well as eczema and dryness. I'm very fair with some freckles and a tendency towards irritation. I use the avene cleanser lotion as step #2 of a two-step cleanse, with DHC oil as step #1. As I wear sunscreen every day and make-up often, I don't think I could use it alone. But the two are so gentle and yet effective together. They've been my face cleansers for roughly 3 years now, and while my skin is by no means perfect (and likely never will be) its not enraged and uncomfortable either.
I've been using for a few years now.
I use this every night to wash my face. It's gentle on my skin and removes makeup. Before use, I do use an eye make up remover and then wash. Also have used it on airplane's or camping because you don't have to rinse it off. I usually do rinse at home though.
