- Step 1: To create the best blank canvas for your color, we recommend that you first lighten your hair with our easy-to-use GDY Lightening Kit. This is because our semi- permanent dye shows up best on level 9 or 10 light blonde hair. You can use DYEposit in Platinum to pre-tone the hair to remove any yellow tones.
- Step 2: Squeeze your color into the GDY Biodegradable Tool Kit. Remember: wear gloves to prevent staining on your hands.
- Step 3: Do a strand test on a piece of hair in the lower back portion of your head before applying the color all over your hair to ensure you love the look!
- Step 4: Divide your hair into 4 equal sections and apply dye directly onto dry hair. Make sure the color is fully saturated throughout each section by applying a dollop of color for every two inch portion of your hair. Gently emulsify/massage into the hair to ensure coverage.
- Step 5: Let the color sit on your hair for at least 30 minutes.
- Step 6: Rinse very well with cool water only. If desired, use Color Kind Wash and Rinse to remove any residual dye. Shampoo and conditioner are not required, however.
- Step 7: Style your freshly dyed locks just the way you like.

Here are some ideas to get you started. To ensure the color you mixed is the perfect shade for you, you can first perform a test swatch on your own hair. Grab a small piece from the back underneath of your hair, apply the color and wait 15-20 minutes. Rinse the color out and from there you can determine if what you mixed is your desired result. If you're looking to add a vibrant pop to dark brown hair, you can try one of the below options. Level 5, medium brown: All In This Together will create a slight red pinkish brown tone; Rock Lobster will add a slight red tint making a Lana Del Rey auburn brown. I have the none more black semi-permanent do you have to mix with anything or just use it right out of the tube

This shade has violet and blue undertones. Pretty color, bleeds forever, fades fast
I've been dying my hair semi-permanent colors for decades now, and this is some of the worst dye I have used. The good is that the color is vibrant and pretty. First day it looks great and seems to cover well. The bad is that it fades fast. It constantly bleeds while in your hair for literally a week when you sweat, sleep, and exist, and yes, I rinse until clear (and rinse until clear every wash until it is gone with this stuff). I might as well have bought Manic Panic.

First time using, LOVED IT!
I've been dying my hair since I was like 12, and this dye (Darker Daze, Live Laugh Love) was GREAT! It smells good, didn't stain my skin, and came out beautifully! I have light brown hair with grown out partial highlights. It took me about 30 minutes to apply it to my hair, then I put on a shower cap and left it for 30 minutes, and it came out perfect! Will definitely be using this again!
