Put on gloves. Squeeze 1/2 tube of hair color into disposable bowl. Tightly screw the cap back on and save for next use. Add 1 packette of developer color activator to bowl and mix thoroughly using the applicator brush. Apply mixture to your noticeable gray areas, usually the hairline and part line. Apply product generously. Use the tip end of the applicator brush to part the hair in 1/4''- 1/2'' sections and continue to apply until the desired areas are completely saturated. Put processing cap on and set timer for 45 minutes. Keep the color on an additional 5-15 minutes for resistant gray hair. Using lukewarm water, rinse out color until water runs clear and follow with dpHUE Color Fresh Shampoo and Conditioner.

First at home color- was so nervous. WORKED GREAT!
This was my first at home color. I have been battling with grays but wasn't happy with different stylist coloring jobs or price for not matching my color. I was so nervous to color myself but wanted to give it a shot and so happy I did. I have light brown hair and it's currently balayaged so I was n...

Not for Blondes
Oh dear, this was bad. First off I'll say that this product is probably a good buy for brunettes, unfortunately I'm a blonde. My colorist was unable to reschedule my appointment due to a work schedule change, so I purchased the blonde shade of DP hue (it said blonde, and had a pleasantly yellow co...

Not good coverage for gray hair. I would like a refund
Hair Type Very Curly Hair
I didn't like it. Not good coverage for gray hair
Very good
Very good product. The Light Brown color worked well to cover grey. The color tube was difficult to open, but that wax th only issue I had.
Shocked by the results!
I bought this hoping for the best and i was not disappointed! It covered my silvers pretty well, although i had to leave it on for about an hour as my silvers are pretty resistant. It pulls a touch red on me but really blends well! I got the medium brown and it looks very natural and close to my true color.
I would buy this product again
Hair Type Wavy Hair
Great result!
Did not cover gray hair
I was hopeful this would be less damaging product to cover gray hair regrowth but unfortunately it turned ng gray roots bright red. I even left it on for 50 - 60 minutes.

My greys around the hairline grows out too quickly. How long is the color supposed to last? Also how frequently can we use it?
- Asked by ViVI
- Official Answer By dpHUE - Brand EngageGray regrowth around the hairline can show up faster than expected—that’s totally normal! Our Root Touch-Up Kit is designed to give lasting coverage for 3-4 weeks, but how long it holds really depends on how fast your hair grows and how resistant your grays are. You can safely reapply the Root Touch-Up Kit every 4 weeks, or as needed, to keep your roots looking fresh. If your grays are especially stubborn, we recommend using our Root Touch-Up Kit for Resistant Grays, which is formulated to better grip and hold color on those hard-to-cover areas. Was this answer helpful to you
- Q
Can this be used exclusively for root touch up or are salon visits still required? How often can it be used?
- Asked by Stephanie
- Official Answer By dpHUE - Brand EngageYes—our Root Touch-Up Kit in Light Brown can definitely be used exclusively for at-home root maintenance. It delivers salon-quality gray coverage right at your roots, making it easy to extend time between salon visits—or even skip them altogether if you’re happy with your results. How often you use it really depends on your amount of gray and how quickly your hair grows. Just apply as needed to keep your color looking fresh and seamless! Was this answer helpful to you
- Q
How long can you keep the color cream open till your next use?
- Asked by toots
- Official Answer By dpHUE - Brand EngageOnce opened, the color crème in our Root Touch-Up Kit has a 12-month shelf life (you’ll see the open jar symbol on the box that says “12M”). That said, we recommend using it within 12 weeks for best results. Just make sure the cap is sealed tightly after your first use to prevent air from getting in. If it starts to oxidize, you might notice a color change—it won’t harm your hair, but it may not be as effective. Was this answer helpful to you

I consider myself to have a darker brown hair with a reddish hue. My esalon color states light brown with gold. Which color touch up should I purchase?
- Asked by bigbird
- Official Answer By dpHUE Brand Engage TERMINATEDHello! I would recommend going with the shade closest to your new growth. If you are in-between shades, I would suggest the lighter option. Hope this helps! Was this answer helpful to you

Hi. I get my grey roots colored professionally. I'm a 5/6. I've been to multiple salons, and always end up with "hot roots." Will this happen with this product?
- Asked by AJ
- Official Answer By dpHUE Brand Engage TERMINATEDHello! Usually "hot roots" happen when you are lifting the hair. Our color is not intended to lift, but to cover gray's at your natural level. If you are a 5/6 and color your roots to be a 5/6 you should not experience "hot roots". Hope this helps! Was this answer helpful to you

It seems that a limited number of colors are offered for the root touch up and are limited to lighter hair ranges, will Ulta ever carry the other colors offered by this line or at least included a couple options for darker shades?

I bought the medium brown color for my coily ethnic hair. Inside the kit was samples of a daily shampoo and conditioner to use right after my color to help prolong the color. The shampoo and conditioner made my hair INCREDIBLY SOFT AND MANAGEABLE! :) Could you please tell me if that shampoo and conditioner is sold separately? No product has ever made my hair feel so silky...ever! Thank you!

Hi! I am a natural medium dark brunette with quite a bit of grey. The rest of my hair is a light golden blonde from highlights. What color brown would be suitable to blend with the rest of my hair (highlighted portion). Medium brown? Dark blonde? Thank you!
- Asked by Mags
- Official Answer By dpHUE Brand Engage TERMINATEDHello! We keep our Root Touch Up Kit as gentle as possible, so it will not lighten your hair more than one shade. If you feel your natural hair color is between two shades, I would go with the lighter option to help blend into your highlights. Hope this helps! Was this answer helpful to you
