Start with dry/styled hair. Load up small end of the brush. Pull hair flat and taught against your head, then press brush down firmly into roots, starting from scalp and working out. Do not use sweeping motion. Apply more powder as needed. Use same technique to fill in hairlines or extend highlights.

Eyeshadow works just as good
I read another reviewer saying it and it's true, this is overpriced eyeshadow! I tried eyeshadow and worked the same, but cheaper. This is an awesome product! I use a toner with my regular hair color and this product can be used not only as a root touchup, but the large side of the brush to put on the rest of the hair to bring out the vibrancy of the toner and make you feel like you just stepped out of the salon!

This product is awesome! It covers well and doesn't come off on clothes and bed linens. I believe it's waterproof! If you have thinning hair around the forehead area, the coverage fills it in and makes the hair appear thicker. It stays until the next wash.

I really wish this worked for me but it made no difference. Grant it, I have very dark hair and maybe 40-50% grey in some areas but it didn't do anything to cover. I returned it.
