- Step 1: To create the best blank canvas for your color, we recommend that you first lighten your hair with our easy-to-use GDY Lightening Kit. This is because our semi- permanent dye shows up best on level 9 or 10 light blonde hair. You can use DYEposit in Platinum to pre-tone the hair to remove any yellow tones.
- Step 2: Squeeze your color into the GDY Biodegradable Tool Kit. Remember: wear gloves to prevent staining on your hands.
- Step 3: Do a strand test on a piece of hair in the lower back portion of your head before applying the color all over your hair to ensure you love the look!
- Step 4: Divide your hair into 4 equal sections and apply dye directly onto dry hair. Make sure the color is fully saturated throughout each section by applying a dollop of color for every two inch portion of your hair. Gently emulsify/massage into the hair to ensure coverage.
- Step 5: Let the color sit on your hair for at least 30 minutes.
- Step 6: Rinse very well with cool water only. If desired, use Color Kind Wash and Rinse to remove any residual dye. Shampoo and conditioner are not required, however.
- Step 7: Style your freshly dyed locks just the way you like.

In general, pastel shades tend to fade faster, as they have less pigment load. If I have level 7 light brown hair, can I use Rose Mocha to make it a darker brown?

Since Rose Mocha has a significant amount of red undertones in it, putting it over a natural level 7 hair will result in a dark plum/cherry cola. Vivid Color!
Vivid Color, easy to apply, and healthy hair after lightening.
Doesn't fade
I was expecting this to fade off quickly due to the reviews and I would've been fine with that since I would love to try other colors. However it has been over a month and the magenta refuses to come off. I have covered it up with another brand's purple color but as that fades the magenta is still underneath. Use this information as you will.
Pretty color, bleeds forever, fades fast
I've been dying my hair semi-permanent colors for decades now, and this is some of the worst dye I have used. The good is that the color is vibrant and pretty. First day it looks great and seems to cover well. The bad is that it fades fast. It constantly bleeds while in your hair for literally a week when you sweat, sleep, and exist, and yes, I rinse until clear (and rinse until clear every wash until it is gone with this stuff). I might as well have bought Manic Panic.

First time using, LOVED IT!
I've been dying my hair since I was like 12, and this dye (Darker Daze, Live Laugh Love) was GREAT! It smells good, didn't stain my skin, and came out beautifully! I have light brown hair with grown out partial highlights. It took me about 30 minutes to apply it to my hair, then I put on a shower cap and left it for 30 minutes, and it came out perfect! Will definitely be using this again!
