Bio Ionic's Long Barrel Curling Iron is 2" longer than the average curling iron, making it easier to curl larger sections, long hair or the back of your head.

This is by far my favorite hair tool. I have long hair and like the tighter curls. I also have this tool in the 1.25" version, but the 1" version is my go-to. In fact, I just took it on a camping trip! This would be a hands-down five star review except for this experience: I bought this curling iron initially a few months ago from a salon, and the plastic lever broke. The salon couldn't exchange it for me, per BioIonic (or so they said). They instructed me to call their CS number which I did and didn't receive a call back after leaving a voicemail. After exploring their website and registering my product, I had to ship the item back at my expense. BioIonic was very gracious with their warranty policy, however, and shipped a new one immediately. Unfortunately, they packaged the wrong item. It took a few days to get an email response from their CS team, obtain a shipping slip, drop off at UPS, etc. Some of this is understandable due to COVID delays. All in all, the return/exchange was successful but I was without my favorite go-to tool for a few weeks which was a bummer. I hope their shipping people are more careful when packaging next time, and they consider free shipping on returns. Just a few too many bumps in the process to warrant 5 stars...
I never write reviews, but I feel compelled to review this curling iron. I was so excited for it since I have long hair, but it does not live up to the hype. Before it even arrived, I was skeptical. I go to the salon a lot and usually get it styled with a blow dryer, but I got it curled at my last two visits. At two different salons, they used this curling iron and the curls fell flat before I even left the salon. I had zero volume, it was awful. When I got the iron in the mail, I had a feeling the same thing would happen. I watched so many tutorials and gave it a few tries, but every single time, it wouldn't hold a curl. Do note that I have naturally wavy hair, and I've never had this issue. Usually, my hair has trouble staying straight but never curled. So this was a first. I had to return. Don't waste your money!

Didn't realize until i tried it out that the temp max is 385. my hair will not hold at a temp that low.

This is the best iron I have ever owned! Throwing all the others out!

The curling iron is to long it's difficult to use it to unwrap the curls. I have hair that is ~1" shy of reaching my belly button and I wasn't able to use it as intended. The hair also slips through the clamp so easily that my hair slipped out in the middle of a curl a few times. However, the curls did stay all day. I'll be returning and going back to my cheap conair.

I had high hopes for this iron. I've read some reviews that it's mainly for waving your hair. This morning I curled it just to see if it would hold and it didn't. Then I waved out my hair and it turned out okay. Just a few hours into the day, all of my waves fell, even with having sprayed hairspray. Not worth the money. Taking back tomorrow.

This iron is the best I've ever used. The extra length curls higher for a better curl top to bottom and the curl really lasts, even on fine hair.

I have super fine straight hair. I struggle to hold a curl for even an hour. This curling iron changed my life!!!! Curls my hair in 10 mins, and the curl stays all day, i sleep on it , wake up and still have a loose curl that's so wearable. I highly recommend this iron!!!

I love the length and feel of this curler, but I cannot get a single wave to stay let alone a curl. I have tried different products both in low and high $ range and nothing helps.

I tried to be cheap and us Conair and Hot Tools. This is the iron my stylist uses. My hair has changed texture and wouldn't hold a curl with out a whole can of hair spray. The long barrel is great and all my hair is able to touch it rather than wrapping around it's self. I can curl my hair and it will stay in for days. Worth the extra money.

This is the BEST curling iron for long hair I've found. I wish I would've bought it years ago! I got it as a Christmas gift to replace my regular one with a shorter barrel. You can do tight curls or waves with this. 10/10 definitely recommend!

I love this curling iron. It takes bigger sections than I'm use to which is a huge plus for me. I have very long and thick hair.

This curling iron is amazing. My hair holds the curls even at the lowest heat setting. My hair just glides right through it as well. I love it!

I bought it for my mother as a gift and she loves it! She's curled her hair everyday since she got it!

It was a better straightener

My hair usually holds a curl fine with a wand. With this it won't hold. For the review saying it's for waves, when we say this curling iron won't hold our curls we mean curls/waves. It doesn't hold anything. I've turned the heat all the way up and all the way down. I've waited three days to curl my hair after washing it, added hairspray to my hair before curling it, and tried adding texture spray as well to give it some grit (not all at the same time been trying all different ways since getting this). Literally this curling iron will not hold a curl/wave whatever the heck you want to call it. I mean maybe my hair is just not damaged enough as someone else said, but then why would a wand hold the curl and not this? Unfortunately for the price this is going back. I know how to curl my hair for curls, and to do the beach wave look I've tried this so many times and no matter what I do they don't hold.

I see a lot of bad reviews from people saying that it doesn't hold curls! First off as a hairstylist who uses tools on the daily! This specific type of tool is made to create beautiful loose loose curls / beach waves and it truly creates gorgeous Hollywood glam hairstyles. Second, if your hair is too clean it won't hold and you may need more texturizing spray. Third, don't give a tool a bad review because you don't know how to use it on long hair this does hold curls.
I am a hairstylist and needed to invest in a curling iron that not only curled but long enough to help me work quick at the hair salon. I love this long barrel 1.25 one especially for loose waves and doing Hollywood glam hair. It's not made to curl hair super curly I read in the reviews someone complaining about their curls not staying curly but if you want tight curls get a smaller one this is made to create beautiful loose curls/ waves! I used it for the first time today at the salon and was impressed! ❤️

Contacted the company as it just doesn't hold curl no matter what products I use and how long I wait to take my fingers through the curls. Within an hour it doesn't look like I even curled my hair. I even had my stylist add more layers to help. At this point, it shouldn't be on the market. I thought that I was making an investment in a high-quality tool that was good for my hair, but it was a waste of money. It saddens me as I missed the cut-off to return it because I was waiting until the summer humidity subsided to give it a fair trial.

I've been curling my hair for years. So I'm not new to this. I was using a NuMe wand before this and my hair held the curls just for days. So I am not sure why this curling iron will not hold. I started out on 360,390 and then finally went to 430. Let the curls cool for 30 minutes before I even touched them and still within the hour after brushing through them my hair was flat again. Not sure why this curling iron won't hold the curls

This was a great iron - while it worked. I use my 10 year old GHD flat iron almost daily, and this probably 2x per month. After a year, it has quit working. GHD is worth the huge price tag. This brand, not so much. Will not buy this brand again.

I tried this based on my stylist's recommendation. I have long, fine hair. I normally use a curling wand and was looking for a curling iron to change up my style and get looser waves. Also thought it might be a little faster. With my curling wand it will hold its curl for DAYS (2-4). I've never had an issue with a styling tool holding the curl. When using this curling iron my curls barely lasted 20 minutes; even though I let them cool and set after each curl. I did love the long barrel though. Wish I would have trusted the reviews and made a different purchase.

The curler I received must of been faulty, it made a strange popping sound anytime I turned it on. It was continuous through styling my hair and only stopped when switched off. It curled like an average curler, I wouldn't recommend purchasing it.

I love this iron. This is my first time using a 1.25 inch iron and using a long barrel so I was worried about ease of use on my mid length hair but it has been a breeze and is a comfortable tool for amateur at home styling!

May be returning, as my it doesn't grip my fine hair well.
