Start with hair that is completely dried & detangled before using Le Duo Flex.
When initially plugged into an electrical outlet, the lights on the tool will illuminate in succession from the icon to the highest temperature (the tool has not started heating).
To heat Le Duo Flex for the first time, press and hold the power button until a white light illuminates beside 280°F.
The light beside the default temperature of 280°F will blink while the tool heats. Once the tool has reached temperature, the white light beside the temperature will stop blinking and the fan will turn on automatically.
To select a different temperature, press and release the power button until the light beside your desired temperature illuminates.
To deactivate the fan, press and release the button.
Apply your L'ange heat protectant of choice.
Detangle and divide hair into small, manageable sections.
Make sure to keep the hot plates away from your face and body.
For tight curls, toggle the adjustor switch---found above the clip---towards the symbol. For loose curls, toggle the adjustor switch towards the symbol.
Holding the iron vertically, squeeze the clip to open the plates and insert a 1⁄2"--1" section of hair between the plates near the root.
Close iron, rotate between 180° and 360°---the more rotation, the tighter the curl---making sure that you turn the tool in the direction of the curve of the plate. Glide the iron down the length of the hair. The slower you pull the iron, the tighter the curl. Consider varying the curl direction for a more natural end result.
Repeat on remaining sections until your desired style is achieved.
Once finished, press and hold the power button for 3 seconds to turn the tool OFF. All lights on the handle will turn off.
Unplug Le Duo Flex and wait until completely cooled before storing away.

Absolutely disappointing product. I read the instructions (regardless of using many straighters in my life) to be sure I would heat and be using the product in the correct way. I didnt want to end up using it wrong and then add more time to getting ready. The "straightner" or heating plates of this product do not clamp or "close" all the way. There is maybe about a quarter of an inch that DOES clamp down completely and I think I'm being generous, which is at the very tip of the straightner. That same quarter inch is the amount of hair that gets straightened. I did some trail and error hoping I was just using it wrong. I made sure to hold the tip with pressure, even tried holding down the part that opens the clip. I tried smaller and thicker strands of hair. Changed the heat temperature lower/higher. Nothing worked or at least in the way a straightner should work. I usually take about 20-30 mins to straighten my hair, my hair is thick and curly. This took me an hour and a half and had to pass through the same strand 7-10 times. I've boughten $30 straightners that work better than this. Product is displayed to be used as a curling and straightening tool. I wish I could post pictures to further convince you of not buying this tool at least for straightening.
Bouncy Curls that Stay
I have mostly straight, thick hair and purchased this straightener with the intention of using it for curling my hair. As someone whose hair doesn't hold a curl, the air vents around the straightener really sold me into buying it. I was hoping for two things: 1. to save on time by minimizing cool down for the curls to set. and 2. for the curls to last longer than a few hours. In my case, the Le Duo Edge met my expectations. Using it on the lowest heat setting, even without hairspray, my curls lasted throughout the day. I do agree with other reviewers saying it isn't thick hair friendly. The clamps are very slippery or loose, which makes it difficult to grasp large sections of hair.
Don't waste your money
My favorite tool needed to be replaced, I discovered this one via Social Media and Ulta app. I used my rewards towards this purchase in early December, have given it 2 months of trial & error with different styling products; it's just not measuring up. If you have thick and/or course strands as I do (asian, medium-long length), this will not hold a style or a curl. This tool could be used for sealing a heat activated glossing treatment or for straightening.
Really disappointed
I got this hoping it would help me quickly straighten and curl my hair. I have now tried multiple way, different hair products with it, taking longer to style, rushing to style and it saves no time and a regular curling iron works better. Very disappointing.
Big Design Flaw
Do not buy this straightener if you have anything thicker or fuller than fine straight thin wispy blonde hair. Your hair will get stuck in the angled cavity and rip it straight out of your scalp.
