There are serious issues with the spring that allows you to open and close the iron to curl. It's like the spring gets too hot, softens, and ends up stuck and the iron won't close all the way to secure the hair. I use the tool the way it is intended. I bought this last month , i have used this twice. It doesn't hold the hair properly. I tried different techniques but it doesn't work.
Broken clamp makes it unusable
I am really disappointed with this curling iron. At first it worked great. Then clamp mechanism stopped working properly and lost all its strength. This happened a couple of months in and Ulta did replace. But 6 months later it happened again. Now, it can't hold small or medium sections of hair; the hair just slips right out of the barrel. It only provides enough tension if I feed a very thick amount of hair into it, but you can't get good styling results that way. Poor quality durability. Sooo disappointed!!
great until it broke
This curling iron was great until it stopped working. I bought this in January 2026 and curl my hair at MOST 1-2 times per month. Sometimes zero times per month. Now in September 2026, the iron just turns off frequently while using. Like every few minutes and then sometimes won't turn back on. I have hair tools from 2010 that still work, so this is really unacceptable especially at this price point.
Fantastic purchase
Don't usually leave reviews, but this one was worth it. My hair didn't hold a curl with hot tools, but the bioionic worked so well.
