There are serious issues with the spring that allows you to open and close the iron to curl. It's like the spring gets too hot, softens, and ends up stuck and the iron won't close all the way to secure the hair. I use the tool the way it is intended. I'd trade my car and a kidney for this thing
I have really long hair. I have a hard time finding curling irons that do a good job of getting a curl into my hair and keeping it there so far I've had this for about a year and a half. It's lasted a long time it's been used a lot, and I've never had any problems with it. I love it and I'll always pleased with the results.

SCARY!!!
I had only used my brand new curling iron for five minutes before it broke. The entire HOT clamp and spring flew off while I was using it and BARELY missed my face. This is shocking that such a "nice" brand new product almost injured me!
