i have thick 2c/3a hair that i have flat ironed then blown out most of my life. i only started attempting to style my natural curls in my earlier 20's. i like my hair when its air dried but it takes forever and a day. i have been eyeing a shark mainly for the curling attachments for years but since i have transitioned to wearing my hair curly more often than not i wanted to find a dryer & diffuser i loved. i haven't had the best luck with diffusing until i got this !! i've only had this a few weeks and have noted the complaints people have, i always wear earbuds when using a dryer so the loudness isn't an issue for me. i don't think its insanely loud but it definitely is not a "quiet" dryer. i love how powerful and customizable this dryer is. the scalp shield option, the airflow & temp ranges; i have yet to put the smoothing/brush attachments to a full test but i'm lazy so when i blow out my hair, i still love my revlon and going over top with the shark if i have the time. as for my curls, i have never had so much volume. it disperses air evenly and does not add a ton of frizz to my curls. if your hair is curly: you're likely going to have SOME form of frizz but i live in the bible belt where it's consistently pretty humid so i don't mind. there's no tools or products to completely cut out frizz for my hair. apparently (and unsurprisingly) silk pillowcases/bonnets do a world of a good job at extending the life of curls and i'll be abiding by that from here on out. my hair is drier given the texture and i prefer to wash twice a week at max if i'm not sweating buckets. as someone who wanted their hair flat to their scalp ages 10-19, i am so happy to be wearing it natural and giving it a rest ! i can't attest to the claims about lack of damage but if you don't turn on the heat i would assume it'd be significantly less. i had bleached parts of my hair previously, i am currently doing a color gloss every so often to match the ends of my hair to its ginger roots. my hair isn't scorched but with all the processing i've done to it the last few years, it could definitely use some care & this is making it a lot quicker. the dryer feels light weight-wise and is an ordeal to store but i'll be grabbing a case and putting it in my alex drawers. pink/green are my favorite colors so that's just a bonus aesthetically !! i am glad i got it on sale but even full price this dryer has been worth it for me in the time i've had it.

It does not cut blow-drying time, it makes my hair frizzy, one of the attachments sets up crooked no matter how I try to put it on. While using it I constantly change the settings because the buttons are where you grab the blower to dry the hair.

I have had this hair dryer for less than 15 months and it never works and has been intermittent since the beginning. I've cleaned the filters and checked everything that all the videos and online guides say to do. And now it doesn't even turn on. It just buzzes and no lights come on anymore. When it did work it only stayed on for 30-90 seconds and then would shut off and not turn back on no matter how long I let it sit. I was told it was "overheating" but it would do this right after initially turning it on and on the lowest setting. I've called in to support and they can't help and won't offer any sort of replacement or refund. A hair dryer shouldnt fail in under 15 months. It hasn't really worked properly after the first 90 days. So disappointed in this product, the lack of support from the company and the price tag I paid for it. Makes me never want to buy another shark or ninja product again.
