Does this product exfoliate ?
- Asked by Kk
- Official Answer By La Roche-Posay - BEHello there! At La Roche-Posay, our Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel Cleanser effectively cleanses oily skin without the physical or chemical exfoliation found in some other cleansers. It focuses on gently removing excess oil, dirt, and impurities without harsh scrubbing or potentially irritating exfoliating ingredients. This makes it suitable for daily use, even on sensitive skin. - Q
Can I use this cleanser everyday?
- Asked by Rose
- Official Answer By La Roche-Posay - BEHello there! While Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel Cleanser is designed for oily skin, whether you can use it every day depends on your individual skin's tolerance and needs. Some people with very oily skin find it beneficial to use daily, while others with more sensitive or combination skin might prefer to use it every other day or a few times a week. It’s always a good idea to start slowly and observe how your skin reacts. If you experience any dryness or irritation, reduce the frequency of use. If you’re unsure, consulting a dermatologist is always recommended. They can provide personalized advice based on your specific skin type and concerns. Was this answer helpful to you

Is this a good face wash to use on acne prone skin?
- Asked by McKinley
- Official Answer By La Roche-Posay - BEHello there! The Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel Cleanser is often recommended for acne-prone skin due to its specific formulation. It contains ingredients that help to cleanse pores, remove excess oil, and reduce shine, which are all beneficial for managing acne. Can this be used on NON oily skin types or willl it be too drying?
- Asked by NaimaD.
- Official Answer By La Roche-Posay - BEHello there! While Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel Cleanser is specifically formulated for oily skin, its suitability for other skin types depends on individual factors. For someone with normal to dry skin, it might be too drying for regular use. However, those with combination skin, where some areas are oily and others are dry, might find it suitable for targeted use on the oilier zones. For more personalized advice, consulting a dermatologist is always recommended. They can assess your specific skin type and concerns to determine if this cleanser, or a different product, is the right fit for you. What is the difference between this one and the other purifying foaming get cleanser that comes with the refill? They both say for oily and both say gel cleansing but different price and bottle type
- Asked by shi
- Official Answer By La Roche-Posay - BEHello there! Thanks for reaching out to us about our Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel Cleanser for Oily Skin. There is no difference between these products besides the packaging they come in. All the ingredients we use in a product are listed on the package or the label of the product itself. For products too small to accommodate the list, a separate ingredient list is available on the display unit in the store for your convenience. Since some ingredients are known by more than one name, we use the standard industry FDA-recognized names. We hope this was helpful! Was this answer helpful to you

Good cleanser
I started using this cleanser after running out of my regular one, and so far it has not disappointed me. My skin feels clean, but not squeaky clean, after using the cleanser, although it takes me a while to foam it. It lathers well but doesn't foam a lot from my experience. If I have a pimple, this...

Had high hopes
i have very bad acne prone oily skin and have struggle with my skin for years. I have heard so much about this brand so I decided to try it out. After about a week of using this my skin is very irritated and extremely dry and painful on my upper cheeks. I was so hopeful.

Dried my skin out
I was looking forward to this product as I have oily skin, but within a few uses, my skin became extremely dry and patchy which hasn't happed with the other La Roche Posay face wash that I've used many times before. I'd recommend sticking to the other oily skin facial cleanser because this one is way too harsh.
wanted to love this but didn't
Just a week after using this my skin broke out like crazy. At first I thought it was my skin getting used to a new cleanser but this was not the case. I really wanted to love this product but unfortunately I do not and ill be going back to my old cleanser.
Broke me out like never before
I have oily skin and struggle a lot with acne, however I've rarely suffered any breakouts from skincare products I've tried in the past. This product was the exception. After using it for a week or so I started experiencing the most painful breakout above my lips (area right under my nose). The pimples even came in clusters!! It was horrible, and as soon as I stopped using this specific product and went back to my previous cleanser my face cleared up. Not to mention the smell was also disgusting. Will never purchase again :(
Not good
I have really oily skin, but this made my skin really dry. It says it's fragrance free, but it have fragrance in it and its super strong which made me break out
Good for oily skin...
I've read a few reviews and there's quite a bit of people complaining about the scent of this product. I personally like the smell, it's a fresh clean scent and doesn't seem so strong to me, so I don't understand what people are complaining about? I have oily skin, larger pores, not sensitive, and also not sensitive to scents and this product worked well for me. I love the consistency of the gel as well and the amount of product will last me a long time. Overall, I would buy again. I wouldn't recommend for sensitive, dry skinned people. It might be too strong.
