This face wash was fine. It cleaned well and didn't irritate my skin. But it didn't do anything different for my skin compared to Cerave or Cetaphil, which are a quarter of the price! For the price, I expected better. I did really like the smell.

I've used dermalogica in the past due to my sensitive skin, but found Clinique has a redness solution in there line up so I switched to them. But Clinique wasn't available at this store so I went back to dermalogica and forgot how nice it was. It works great for my sensitive skin and feels like it actually cleans my face. Clinique leaves a greasy feeling but I was thinking maybe it was moisturizing? Idk but I like the clean feeling I get when I use this product and it does well on the sensitivity. Love it and thinking of switching back to dermalogica products.

I have been having problems with the skin for the past two years. Everything I used irritated my skin. The washes would either burn my skin or I would get redness and breakout. I went to Ulta and purchased this product. Is it amazing! I will never use any other product. I just wish it was more reasonable, I think it's expensive.

My dermatologist recommended this face wash. My skin is oily and dry in parts, and this seems to balance it out without stripping or irritating the skin. It also is supposed to reduce redness, which I think has worked as well.

Do you think I should stick with this product and see if my breakouts get better or discontinue use? I only began using the cleanser two days ago...

If this product is causing you to breakout please discontinue using it. It sounds like there is an ingredient in it that is not agreeing with your skin.

                Hi,

I'm 19 and have quite oily skin (especially the T-zone) I'm looking for something simple which can help get rid of blackheads and breakouts. I am just wanting clear skin but dont want to go through all the hassle multiple products and using them in a step by step fashion. Is there anything you know of which might help?

              • Q:

I have dry/red/sensitive skin and am currently using the essential cleansing solution. It's great for keeping my face clean, doesn't aggravate my skin or make my dry skin worse, and keeping blemishes at bay. However, it is not fixing my dry skin. Would the Ultracalming Cleanser work more at repairing my dry skin? Should I make the switch to this cleanser?

Also, I have used the clear start scrub and recently tried the microfoliant scrub. I've also used active moist for my moisturizer.

                  Hello There:

Thank you for your interest in Dermalogica. Either Essential Cleansing Solution or Ultracalming Cleanser will be appropriate for cleansing. For moisturizing we recommend that you use Intensive Moisture Balance, this is for dry skin, it is thick, rich, helps to strengthen the lipid barrier, it also has antioxidants. The Active Moist that you are using is for oily skin. The Clear Start is formulated for teens with acne skin conditions. We recommend that you discontinue the use of the Active Moist and Clear Start Blackhead Clearing Pore Control Scrub. For exfoliation the Microfoliant is appropriate to use, you may use it on alternate days or daily if your skin responds well. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

                  Best Regards,

Thank you for your interest in Dermalogica. The Ultracalming Cleanser. The Ultracalming cleanser texture is a hybrid of a gel/ cream. It easily wipes off or rinses off with water. You have the option of removing it with tissues.
