Because everyone's hair is different, do the strand test and see the result of the color before full application. A patch test is also recommended to confirm you're not allergic.
Step 1: Shampoo and dry hair thoroughly. Do NOT use conditioner.
Step 2: Use coconut oil (or petroleum jelly) around hairline and on ears to prevent staining of the skin (optional).
Step 3: Remove bottle cap and inner seal.
Step 4: Wear protective gloves for application and pour desired amount into bowl.
Step 5: Apply color evenly with color brush. Begin at the root of the hair and work it evenly through to the ends. Start nape of the neck and work upwards through the head and be sure to completely saturate the hair shaft.
Step 6: Place a plastic cap over the hair and leave color on for at least 1/2 hour or more. Arctic Fox hair color will NOT damage your hair and has added conditioner, so leaving it on for longer will not hurt a thing.
Step 7: Rinse hair in tepid water thoroughly, until the water runs clear. For the first rinse, do not rinse hair while showering! Best bet is to rinse in the kitchen sink with cold water.
To prevent color bleeding make sure hair is completely dry before sleeping.

I have been using arctic fox for almost a year now. I have used to it maintain my hair in various shades of blue, purple, pink, and turquoise. I switched over from overtone because it was staining my hair, esp the dark blue. Arctic fox does not do this, but it also needs to be refreshed a bit more...

VIRGIN BLONDES - AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE !!!!
This product was an absolute nightmare ! Used this on my VIRGIN, all natural & very healthy dark ash blonde hair, from mid length to ends for a cool ombré effect. The color never washed out and it's been 8 months. I've tried multiple chelating shampoos, dandruff shampoo, the vitamin c treatment, etc...

Im not new to dying my own hair, and i followed all directions. I bought shade Transylvania in a pinch bc i just needed my roots done quickly, but didnt want permanent dye to potentially stain my tub. Applied fine, then went to rinse with cold water- my tub is stained dark navy blue. I turn the heat up to rinse the tub, it fades into purple, and then HOT pink. The hot water is no longer working to remove the stain, so i spent 45 minutes on the floor of my tub scrubbing away the hot pink without the color fully washed out. I take a peek at myself in the mirror, i have dark blue water drips staining my face, back, and arms and then i spend even more time scrubbing that away before i can rinse my hair. It took FOREVER. I scrubbed at my scalp and the dye would not move, it looked like sharpie on my scalp. And the best part- my roots were gray instead of black, IF the dye worked at all. Some areas took none of the color. And then it all washed away the very first time i shampooed. I have never written a negative review before, this one definitely earned the one star though.

How long does the product last in hair?

How long the color lasts depends on many factors such as the specific color you are using, the level of the hair underneath, the porosity of your hair and your personal haircare regimen, but on average the color can last between 4-8 weeks for the majority of our customers with pre-lightened hair, and closer to just 2-4 weeks on unbleached hair. We have formulated our color to be one of the longest-lasting semi-permanents available, but for the best results, you will have to take care of your color. Here are some tips that might help with the longevity: Shampoo in cold water (as cold as you can stand it) Use AF sulfate-free, color-safe shampoo and conditioner Use AF dry shampoo in between washes (frequent shampooing will fade the color) Stay away from alcohol-based styling products (they are drying and will fade the color) Avoid high heat styling Know that if you go swimming your hair color may be stripped almost immediately, especially in chlorinated water Add in a bit of color to your shampoo and/or conditioner to keep your color fresher longer! i have natural strawbery blonde/copper hair but dont want to bleach, id be getting highlights with the frose color. what damage can i expect, how long would it last, would the color even show, and is doing it without bleach even possible?

- Official Answer By Arctic Fox - Brand EngageAs mentioned online, pre-lightening for pastels (including Frose) is necessary for accurate coloring! If your hair is naturally a light blonde then Frosé will have trouble taking and may only last for a wash or two as its such a low pigmented shade for natural hair. Using or at least mixing in a more pigmented color like Virgin Pink would be recommended in this case 💖 All of our colors will wash out 100% though, given time. Pinks tend to wash out fairly soon (4-8 weeks on bleached hair and 2-6 weeks on unbleached hair, whereas blues and greens can linger for quite a while.Was this answer helpful to you

I have waist length hair but it's not very thick, is one bottle enough or should I get 2?

- Official Answer By Arctic Fox - Brand EngageOne of our smaller 4oz bottles will usually cover hair right around shoulder length of average thickness, while our larger 8oz size covers hair closer to mid-back length of average thickness. Our 5.6 oz tubes are just between these two in terms of coverage! We're one of the only companies to offer dye in an 8oz size, so this larger bottle is often enough for most types and lengths of hair! If your hair is particularly long (approaching the small of the back) or more on the thick side though, you may need to get a second or third bottle to ensure you'll have enough! Our dyes will keep your color good for up to two years unopened (if stored properly in a cool dry place) and up to a year after opening (if stored properly) though, so if you're unsure it's always nice to have extra for touch-ups! 💖Was this answer helpful to you

Does this color need a developer used with it?

All Arctic Fox colors are semi-permanent direct dyes, so they do not use developer or peroxide to work and should also never be mixed with any as this would result in a patchy and/or faded result. If the hair needs to be lightened in order for the color to turn out vibrantly, this must be done prior to applying the dye.
