    How To Use

A few tips to help you color with total confidence:

Skin Allergy Test - Madison Reed always recommends you do a sensitivity test before coloring your hair. At least 48 hours beforehand, mix 1 part Radiant Cream Color (a small squeeze) with 1.5 parts Conditioning Color Activator (a few drops). Use a cotton swab to apply a quarter-sized amount to a small patch of skin behind your ear or inside your elbow. Keep dry. Wait 48 hours. If there is no sign of change to the area, then you're ready to color. Always consult your physician if you have questions or concerns. If you've had a sensitivity to hair color in the past, you may be more likely to have a reaction.

Please see the instructions included in your Radiant Hair Color kit for the best application to achieve your desired results.

Tips and tricks from the experts - Wear a shirt or smock that buttons or zips up the front to make cleanup easy. Begin with dry, unwashed hair. The day after your last shampoo is best for coloring. Make sure hair is free of styling products as they coat hair and may block the color.

Total Color Processing Time = 35 minutes (or 45 minutes for maximum gray coverage)

Precautions: Everyone is different, and all permanent hair color contains ingredients which can cause an allergic reaction, which in rare cases, can be severe. Therefore, you must follow the precautions listed on the included instructions.

BEAUTIFUL COLOR - But a bit dark

This color could not be more natural looking. I was previously coloring my hair a light brown/ash blonde and wanted to go a medium/light brown copper red. The preview photos of this color are all very different. I was hoping to turn out on the lighter side, but mine came out pretty dark, but it is o...

My color quiz matched me with lighter shades of blonde but I opted for this (it was still one of my matches) because it was darker and I am always afraid of going too light at home. According to the swatch online it did not look too far off of my natural color so I didn't think anything would go wro...

Save some money: buy something else

I'd wanted to try this brand for years. Finally tried when it was on sale. Sure glad I didn't pay full price. Based on their marketing (and well, the price), I expected it to be better than other boxed hair color. It is not better. Performed significantly worse than Schwarzkopf and Feria, which are what I normally use. Application was fine. It's easy to use, but all the box kits are. I used the conditioner that came with the kit. (There is only enough for one application.) After coloring, my hair is usually softer and nicely conditioned. Not with this product. My hair felt dry and in poor condition. Also…the color does not look red like on the box. It is very brown. And it's flat color—not at all "multidimensional." My grays popped back out after about 4 washes. My hair is also VERY brassy, which has never happened with any other red kit I used in other brands. I guess my curiosity is satisfied, and now i won't feel I need to pay more for this product. Really can't recommend, so I say save yourself some money and disappointment: buy another brand.

    Not worth it

I bought the shade 6NAV medium cool brown, and the results are disappointing. My level before coloring was a 6 and I wanted to cool the warmth. This didn't do that, if anything I think it deepened the warmth, which seems impossible since it's supposed to contain ash and violet. Given the cost, it's a huge letdown.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

Official Answer By Madison Reed - Syndication
Hello! You can mix half the color and half the activator in a color bowl and apply with a brush. The unmixed halves can be saved for up to a year, as long as the caps are replaced and they are stored in a cool, dry place. Was this answer helpful to you
