Can I use face powder over it before applying eye makeup? Will that make it last longer?

- Official Answer By MACYes, you can absolutely apply face powder over Prep + Prime 24-Hour Extend Eye Base before your eye makeup. It will create a softer, more diffused look and help smooth the lid for blending. That said, setting with face powder may slightly reduce the long-wear grip of the base. If you notice your shadow isn’t lasting as long, try applying your powder eyeshadow directly onto the unset base instead - powder adheres best to the slightly tacky texture, which helps lock everything in place for maximum longevity. I need a primer that does not "grab" and make my lids look patchy and crepey. I've tried everything! I used paint pots years ago but they started to look dried out on my skin. I really want a primer with a light cream MATTE shade to disguise pinkish/purple discoloration but it just doesn't exist. Help?

The ONLY primer that works for my hooded, oily eyes

I have extremely oily, heavily hooded eyes and I've spent literally hundreds of dollars on various products over the years in an attempt to find an eyeshadow primer that actually keeps shadows in place without creasing or fading. Urban Decay's Primer Potion used to be my holy grail, until they changed the formula about 8 years ago. After that, I tried the MAC Paint Pot, Morphe primer pot, ELF primer, Smashbox, and countless others with no luck. There was a ~3 year period where I actually just stopped wearing eyeshadow/eyeliner altogether, up until I decided to try this primer. This works wonderfully. It creates a smooth canvas for shadows while also lightly concealing the blue veins in my eyelids. The staying power is insane and it doesn't crease AT ALL, even after 15+ hours of wear in Mississippi heat/humidity. If you're considering this primer, DO NOT HESITATE!!! It is worth the price & then some.

Ever since i discovered this product i can not and would not ever think of wearing eyeliner make up, especially any form of eyeliner without it. I hope they never ever discontinue nor change the formula. I wear all different retires of eyeliners and I know when I get compliments, it's not so much the eyeliner, it's this primer that make my liner look so clean and smudge free all night / all day long. There is a trick to using it. You must take a very small amount rub well between fingers then gently apply all over your eyelid including the edge but careful not to get it on your lashes. Make sure it's a thin layer but covers the whole area. Wait a minute to set. Apply a touch of powder over it and the contribute with eye make up. This is one of the most important products in my makeup routine. Love it

I have been using this eye primer for years and it provides the best, long lasting coverage. Powder shadow, crepe shadows adhere beautifully and last from morning until evening. It doesn't dry out and allows the makeup to stay in place.
