Hello! Thank you for your question! Yes, Kristin Ess Hair The One Purple Shampoo has ultra-violet pigments that effectively tone down brassiness and yellow tones on natural or color treated hair. This shampoo reduces brassiness and warm tones in gray hair. You can use it daily if you prefer more ashy tones or switch it out with Kristin Ess Hair The One Signature Shampoo to maintain your tone. Love it!

I love trying purple shampoos. I have to admit I probably have 6 different kinds in my shower. I'm so glad I got to test this Kristin Ess purple shampoo since I love this product line. First off the smell is great!! Love the bottle, easy to pop open and pour cap , and the perfect size. This shampoo ...

PURPLE HAIR

I used this product and I could tell in the shower that it was already turning my hair more gray/purple with one wash and I was happy about that. UNTIL I started blow drying my hair and I could see that my freshly colored blonde hair had turned purple! It took several days to fade out, but it did fa...

This stained my hair purple. This was such a consistent problem to the point that I had to dilute with another shampoo. For all that extra hassle I'd rather pay more money & get Matrix Purple shampoo instead. My hair doesn't feel the best after using Kristen Ess, heavy on the scalp. Feels like a waxy film has been left on my hair. Heavily fragranced. My scalp was irritated and itchy.

love letting the shampoo sit for several minutes more than recommended to intensify the purple pigment. It tones down the brassiness of my lightened hair and blends my highlights with the grays that frame my face.

I love how well it neutralized the red in my brown hair!

I am very happy with how well this purple shampoo is cancelling out the red cast in my freshly-dyed hair. I applied the shampoo to my roots first which had the brightest cast, and then applied to the rest of the length and let it sit for 1-3 minutes (estimate). I will probably wait a week and do it again just to see if I can get it even more neutral, but I love the way it turned out! I followed up with a hydrating conditioner, and I will focus on hydration before I use the shampoo again. I had a hard time deciding whether I wanted to try this product or not because I have brunette hair, and every review either listed blonde hair or did not specify. I have been dying my hair dark brown (my natural color) to add shine and cover incoming silver/gray for almost a year. My hair always gives off a reddish/brown cast when I dye it, whether I lighten it or not. Even though I love red/brown hair, it's not right for my complexion. I thought I would just have to live with it, but this purple shampoo helped me get the natural medium-dark brown color I am looking for. Not too ashy, not too red, just right.

I was super skeptical about this purple shampoo, but I'm so glad I tried it! I mixed it with my regular shampoo and used it after a clarifying shampoo (to get rid of any buildup). Left it on for 5 mins and conditioned as usual. It totally brought my faded caramel highlights back to life! Yeah, it was slightly drying, but dramatic/bad like the reviews mentioned. Definitely adding this to my hair care routine.
