 Leave-in Conditioner & Detangler

I originally purchased the pink bottle with the pump, not the spray nozzle. I LOVED that formula. I only had to use a small amount, it made my hair soft, I could use it on wet or dry hair without it building up, and the moisture lasted. I ordered a new bottle online and got the new formula with the spray nozzle. The new formula is just okay. It's much lighter, and not moisturizing enough for my hair anymore (dry and curly.) It seems like they took out the honey and changed the order of some ingredients to make the formula thinner. I have to use a lot more to make my hair soft, and it doesn't keep my hair moisturized in between washes like the old formula. It will feel dry again by the next day, and I'll have to put more on. The old formula I could put on and my hair would be soft for a couple days without needing to add more product. I went through a couple bottles to give it a good try, and I went through it much faster since the formula is thinner. I also don't think it's quite thin enough to be used in a spray bottle easily. It shoots out in a thin line instead of a mist, and I end up having to spray it on my hands first anyway. I went to the Ulta store near me and they had the old formula in stock, so I bought a couple bottles. Really not a fan of this formula change. (I've seen the even older formula in the purple bottle with a pump in stock in store at Ulta too, but I haven't tried that one. Tempted to, because the new spray formula does not work well for me at all.)

I really loved this product when it was in a pump bottle - it left my hair soft and helped with frizz. It seems the company has since slightly changed the formula (removed honey and added Crodamol), and it now leaves my hair frizzy and feeling dry. The spray nozzle is also very narrow when it sprays out, so its difficult to evenly apply without using loads of the product. Sad, because I had finally found a clean, afforable product that actually worked for my hair. I will unfortunately be returning.

I loved this brands products and used three bottles of their leave in conditioner before they changed the formula and the nozzle. The old formula made my hair soft and shiny. The new formula is watery and drying. Between this and discontinuing the Owen Wilson 2 in 1 shampoo and body wash I'm really disappointed with California Naturals.

I was shopping to stock up on this leave in conditioner, I have Type 3C hair and it's great for detangling. However I'm Vegan and it looks like Honey is in the ingredients list now so won't be purchasing moving forward. Also if you use 3 to 5 times a week bottle will only last about two weeks.

The California Naturals leave in was the only cream that actually worked for my wavy curly hair. It's light and soft, not too thick to where it weighs down my curls. Sadly they discontinued the scent I loved so much. I hate the rose scented one! ◠̈
