Satisfying Scalp Detox

[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] I have fine hair and an oily scalp, and a good salt scrub is something I am always looking for. When I was offered the opportunity to try Goop Himalayan Salt Scrub for free in exchange for my honest opinion, I was more than happy to give it ...a try. I immediately liked the scent, as it smells clean, and the color and texture are very appealing. The primary notes I picked up were rosemary with a hint of peppermint. The color is exactly what you would expect from a product derived from Himalayan sea salt, but the texture was a bit unexpected. Most salt scrubs tend to have only a gritty texture, but this one also has a very fluffy consistency along with the grittiness you would expect. The fluffy texture was a pleasant surprise, and I really enjoyed the lather it created alongside the salt crystals. The salt crystals dissolved easily, leaving behind a satisfying lather. It rinsed out well, and my hair felt detoxified afterward. For my first use, since my hair tends to get oily by the following morning, I used a minimal amount of leave in conditioner after showering so I could better gauge how well this product removed oils and impurities. I was pleasantly surprised that even by the end of the day, my hair still looked very clean. By the following morning, I did notice some oiliness, but this is expected since my hair always gets greasy overnight. Since that first use, I have incorporated this product into my routine about once per week. The label recommends using it every two to three washes. While I am hopeful that continued use may reduce scalp oiliness over time, after about a month of consistent use I have not noticed a dramatic reduction. Overall, I really enjoy this product and will continue using it. For someone with an oily scalp like mine, it does a great job on the days I use it of making my hair feel very clean without causing frizz.
