I'm mixed and have a pretty unique hair texture. It's both smooth and coarse, and my curls/waves seem to change every time I wash my hair. I tried so hard to convince myself that this was a great product. And it probably is for other people, but not me and my 3b curls. First, though the smell was nice, it was a bit strong and I found myself getting headaches from it every so often. Second, this shampoo dried my hair out so bad and by the time I would use the conditioner, my hair was desperate for moisture. But neither of the products would give that to my hair. I was left with flat, frizzy and hay-like curls after everytime I'd use the duo. The only time I wouldn't have issues was when I'd pair it with my favorite leave-in or use an emergency hydration mask. I hope it works for others, but for me, it was a return.
A No-Go

I switched to this shampoo and my hair is left feeling absolutely awful. It doesn't clean my scalp or my hair. It leaves a super greasy feeling on my hair. I've tried the smoothing shampoo and I would recommend that one, but the no-lather shampoo is not worth the money.
Great option for dry, thick hair
I like that it has chelating ingredients, so it cleanses my super-thick, coarse, wavy-curly hair in hard water without drying it out. I find it much easier to style my hair after using it along with the conditioner. I am docking one point for the fragrance. It would be wonderful to have a fragrance-free option in this formula, since their "ultra sensitive" shampoo (without fragrance) dried the heck out of my hair and scalp.
New fav shampoo
I have thick 2c/3a curls that have highlights. This is the only shampoo that I could instantly tell it was making my hair feel less dry and we have hard water and no water softning system. I also use the curl defining conditioner after.
