Works for dyed hair only

I bought this back when I had freshly dyed hair, and admittedly knew basically nothing about hair care. I used this without issue for quite a while, however, after dyeing my hair closer to my natural color and growing it out, I've gotten so frustrated at how mangy my hair (particularly at the roots)...

One use and it brought my hair back to life again. Having well water and the build up is insane. After one use my hair had volume and felt clean. After drying my hair didn't feel greasy still like it had been doing. This shampoo will be a staple.

So I have really dark, straight, thick hair and there's this spot on the back of my head that gets buildup super fast so my hair looks super oily within 24 hours of washing it, no matter how many times I shampoo my hair. I decided to try the travel size and omgggg my entire head of hair felt soooooo soft !! I was actually shook. I let my hair fully air dry before I got super excited and omg this product actually works ! Buying the bigger size next ! Highly recommend :)

I bought this back when I had freshly dyed hair, and admittedly knew basically nothing about hair care. I used this without issue for quite a while, however, after dyeing my hair closer to my natural color and growing it out, I've gotten so frustrated at how mangy my hair (particularly at the roots) has looked. It doesn't matter how much I soaked, scrubbed, rinsed, or dried my hair, it would still look mildly greasy and waxy, with no volume at the roots at all. Finally did some research to get to the root (pardon the pun) of this issue, and have come to the conclusion that it's the lack of sulfates in this shampoo which are not sufficiently cleaning my roots. It probably worked when my hair was dyed due to increased porosity, and I'll acknowledge that the ends of my hair still look exceptionally shiny and smooth when using this shampoo, I really don't even need conditioner tbh. But I'm at the point where I need my hair to be *clean* clean, so I will be experimenting with other formulas with sulfates for the time being. Will probably add this back into the rotation when my hair is freshly colored again.

Left my hair feeling matted and stringy

I tried washing my hair (curl type ranging from 2C to 3B) with this two different times. Both times it made my hair feel weighted, matted and stringy. I was so disappointed in how it turned out both times. Would not recommend at all.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

Good for occasional use

Hair Type Wavy Hair

I have short, fine, 3a curly hair and a dry scalp. This is a good clarifying shampoo for occasional use when you have lots of buildup, especially for the price. It is a bit drying on my scalp, though, so I can only use it occasionally and need to pair it with a scalp treatment.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Q
Is this a gluten free product?

Our products do not contain gluten. But read on, because if you're asking this question, there's more you should know. *cue ‘90's music from NBC* We don't actively market our products as gluten-free, primarily because we believe this can be confusing. There are a number of myths surrounding the impact of gluten in personal care vs. food. According to the Mayo Clinic, shampoos and conditioners that contain gluten would need to be swallowed or come into contact with an open wound for someone with Celiac disease to react. This is even true for different types of dermatitis that can arise from Celiac, but still it is required that the gluten be ingested vs. topically applied (with the exception of things like lipstick where you'd easily ingest product or application on or near a wound). So if you're gluten-intolerant or have Celiac disease, it's worth talking to your allergist or doctor about your personal care needs. You may not be as limited as you think! Was this answer helpful to you
