New Fave for This Blondie!
I bought this for the first time nearly two months ago, and I'm in love! It leaves my hair soft and flowy, but not greasy or flat. I have hair on the fine side (I wash every day to every other day to control the slick.) Usually shampoos that are moisturizing are too heavy for me, but this one is perfect. I cant explain how, but I definitely notice a brightness and shine that never happens with other shampoos. For reference, I am a natural level 9 with level 10+ highlights. Highly recommend!
Went from pitch black to lightest blonde
So I went from black hair to the lightest blonde in one sitting. Ive been using protein and bonding products also from Ulta (popular brand names -wink). While my hair didn't break off thankfulky, my hair started looking "dull, yellow, and muddy," overtime. So I did a little research! Basically overtime, bleached hair starts turning dull and yellow because it becomes very porous and water has minerals that will deposit into the hair making it dull, drab and yellow. Like many people, I toned it with a violet based toner - presumably to counteract the yellowing, only to turn my hair more muddy and gray rather than bright blonde. It didnt really counteract the warmth, it didn't illuminate like when I first got it done. It just looked drabbed and monotone. So I called Joico customer service to inquire between Joico Defy Detox and this brightening shampoo to "clarify my overtoned hair" and was told the following: "Specifically, BLB doesnt work by stripping your toner. It works by pulling out those hard deposits in your hair that accumulate over time due to damage or porosity." The Detox Defy is a stronger clarifying shampoo while the Blonde Life Brightening is gentle enough for regular use. By pulling out those hard deposits, it makes your hair brighter and your blonde "clearer," less muddy, and more dimensional. I also found this shampoo to be extremely nourishing, creamy, non-drying and easy to spread. I didnt fear tugging too hard on my fragile hair, and I didnt have any breakage. After using this shampoo once, i found my hair looked more dimensional, less muddy, brighter, and more shiny and It didn't strip my toner. It just made my toner look more like the color it was supposed to and intended to without all the underlying gunk.
