Asked by kristina
Official Answer By cocokind - Brand Engage
Hi! You can use our beginner retinol gel around the eye area. If you’d like, you can follow with revitalizing eye cream for added moisture and brightening. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
How long should you wait before switching to the Advance Retinol if the Beginner doesn't irritate your skin after a month or two of use? I have had only minor breakouts and some dryness in one area so far. Thanks!
Asked by Retinol Beginner
Official Answer By cocokind - Brand Engage
Hi! Everyone's skin is different, but we recommend starting out with Beginner Retinol 0.1% for at least 3 months. If your skin can tolerate it well and you experience no redness or irritation, then you can start transitioning to Advanced Retinol Gel 0.5%. We always recommend patch testing first, and slowly start to incorporate the Advanced Retinol Gel 0.5% 2-3x a week. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Can cocokind beginner retinol gel be used with a bha toner?
Asked by BrownBae
Official Answer By cocokind - Brand Engage
Hi! Avoid using leave-on acids/exfoliants like glycolic and lactic acid, benzoyl peroxide, physical exfoliants, exfoliating pads, and other topical prescription medications when using retinol. Instead, just move them to your morning routine. For instance, you should move your BHA toner to your morning routine. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Hi! Only ingredient I see that I'm concerned about is soybean oil, which I've read can clog pores. Does the retinol counteract this?
Asked by Jess
Official Answer By cocokind - Brand Engage
Hi! There is actually no FDA regulation for the term “comedogenic." In fact, there are no standardized tests that can accurately determine if an ingredient will or will not clog your pores or cause breakouts. Skin health is completely individual and dependent on genetics and lifestyle choices, including skincare! Everyone's skin is different but I do hope you'll give our retinol a try for yourself. We also always recommend patch testing our products on a small area of skin to see if our ingredients work for you!Was this answer helpful to you

Q
Can you use this retinol and vitamin C serum together?
Asked by Cris
Official Answer By cocokind - Brand Engage
Yes! Beginner Retinol Gel and Vitamin C Glow serum can be used together. If applying in the same routine, Vitamin C should be applied after retinol. You can also use Vitamin C Serum in your AM routine and retinol in the PM if you prefer. Was this answer helpful to you

Amazing

I am 39-years-old and have very sensitive skin. I've used this retinol for not quite a year. It is amazing--the first 2-3 weeks, use maybe 2-3 times a week, as your skin will burn. I use a moisturizer after it. However, your skin will adjust to it. It is the only thing that has helped to control ...

It burned my skin

I dont have very sensitive skin and i did alot of research before buying any retinol. I bought this one because it was advertised as beginner friendly. So so good

I had given up hope on finding a retinol I could tolerate. I was using a retinoid gel and it worked well for a couple months but it suddenly made my skin hypersensitive. I had a terrible break out and texture issues. I took a 3 month break to rebuild my barrier and tried this. No irritation at all. So excited I can use retinol again.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

I have sensitive combo & acne prone skin. Ive been using this every night now and it has not once make my skin irritated/red or purge. It does hve a slight burn to it but i dont know if thats just my sensitive skin, but it goes away instantly after applying moisturizer on top. I've recommended this product to my friends already! Will purchase this or the advanced retinol when I finish this one :)
