Q
My son is a 15 yo male with inflammatory acne—more concentrated on the temples/forehead. He is using this wash daily. The acne seems to be worsening. Any other suggestions for a skin care routine that may help?
Asked by Rene
Official Answer By Dermalogica US - Brand Engage
Hello, thank you for contacting Dermalogica. For teenagers, we recommend a Clear Start routine. Cleanse: Start with the Breakout Clearing Foaming Wash to deep clean and purify your skin. Use it morning and night. Exfoliate: Use the Breakout Clearing Liquid Peel 1-2 times per week in the evening after cleansing. Apply a generous amount all over your face and neck, leave it on for 7-10 minutes, and then rinse. Target Treatment: Apply the Breakout Clearing Booster directly to blemishes or breakout areas, or use it as a thin layer all over the face after toner and before moisturizer. Moisturize: Skin Soothing Hydrating Lotion is a lightweight moisturizer to help soothe discomfort and hydrate areas that feel dry, making it suitable for younger, breakout-prone skin. This routine is designed to help clear breakouts and maintain healthy-looking skin. Best Wishes, The Dermalogica TeamWas this answer helpful to you

Q
I have combination skin that tends to be very dry when I wash it and then get really oily at the end of the day/later that day. I want a cleanser that also doesn't leave a film on my face like Cerve does and something that'll help me with my acne, oily and dry skin. I know I'll need more than just a cleanser but I need a great cleanser first. I've tried everything besides this and two more brands for my acne now. Will this work for me?
Asked by Alexa
Official Answer By Dermalogica US - Brand Engage
Thanks for contacting Dermalogica. It's important to have a great cleanser and a moisturizer at the very least for combination/acneic skin types. Clearing Skin Wash and Active Moist could be a great starting point! Best Wishes, Dermalogica Team. Was this answer helpful to you

Q
Hi! Since the beginning of covid I've been struggling with breakouts on my cheeks and chin leaving red marks that I can't get rid of. Since I've started cleansing my skin daily I've experienced small breakouts and bumps on my forehead. What do you recommend? When i come out the shower my skin is super dry but turns oily through the day.
Asked by Maja
Official Answer By Dermalogica US - Brand Engage
Thank you for contacting the Dermalogica. If you're struggling with breakouts we recommend checking out products from either our Clear Start or Active Clearing segments. Active Clearing is geared towards adult acne/breakouts and could be the best choice. We always recommend getting a more thorough consultation in person with a professional skin therapist for a more detailed regimen recommendation--based on your current skin type and conditions! Great product if used as instructed

I've had breakouts since middle school. As I got older, the breakouts changed, but I would get them. After tying a number of other products, I was introduced to Dermalogica. This was before the acne line was released. I was told that if I used the products in the order that I was told, it would work...

Not effective!

I've been using this product religiously now for over a month and I've seen my acne only increasing. Due to the great reputation of this company, along with the recommendation of my dermatologist, I thought I would give it a try, in spite of the expense of the product. I have naturally oily skin and...

I'm a lifelong Dermalogica user.. In my 40s now, skin has become more oily, larger pores, etc. So I tried this new wash— it did not lather, face did not feel clean after washing, skin felt rough and dull looking, the strong menthol in it burned my eyes. And.. my blackheads are still present. I'll just be switching back to their Special Cleansing Gel and oil-free Active Moist, with an occasional exfoliant 👌

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

This stuff is incredible. I've been using this religiously for only a week and wow what a difference! I love the way it smells, it's a little strong at first but my skin got used to it! It's reduced the redness in my skin, pimples that showed up were gone after the 3rd day, and I've just noticed it gives me such a nice glow when followed up with the rest of the products. It's a jump in price from what I was using previously but it was SO worth it to start using this brand.

I've been struggling with deep acne and surface acne for as long as I can remember and have tried probably 100's of different face washes, serums, etc but I finally found something that works. I will never go back after using this. My skin is clearer and smoother and it's brought almost all of my deep acne to the surface. I have sensitive skin and it doesn't irritate that either (unlike a lot of other options I've tried). I am just so so happy with this cleanser!

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend
