For the price, I am very happy with this serum and will repurchase once I run out. My skin is very well adapted to high-powered vitamin C serums and chemical exfoliation, so I did not experience any sensitivity with this hydrating gel formula. I would not replace my much more expensive 15% L-ascorbic acid with this 12% ascorbyl glucoside solution, but it is a little extra boost of antioxidants and brightening on days I'm giving my skin a break from more intense actives. The biggest downside for me is that it goes on quite sticky and tends to pill up if I layer it over or under any other hydrating toners or serums, so it is a nighttime-only product in my routine.
I wanted to work on brightening my skin and the sun spots and acne scars that are on my nose and cheeks. I used at least 3 bottles of this twice a day for almost a year. I kept waiting to see results but not much happened. I decided that when the third bottle ran out, I would stop using it to see if I noticed any difference in my skin. Nothing. So, I concluded that this product does not do it for me. I switched to the Ordinary's Ascorbic Acid/Alpha Arbutin and almost immediately found the results I was looking for. (I don't have sensitive skin, thankfully.)
It's too bad, because the Ascorbyl Glucoside is a lot easier to use than the AA/AA. It has a great texture, no smell, it absorbed well, and I did not experience any side effects like breakouts or irritation. It did not conflict with the other products I was using, which is why I originally selected it. Unfortunately, it just did not change my skin for the better. Good thing I didn't spend a lot of money on it.

This product is an absolute game changer for me. I always have had "pimples" on my cheeks, but recently an aesthetician told me she thought it was a form of rosacea. She recommended adding a Vitamin C serum into my routine and suggested some very expensive options. I read reviews for this and based on it's excellent price point, I gave it a try.
This stuff goes on very smoothly, non greasy whatsoever. It truly has an expensive serum feel. I am not being dramatic, within 2 days of using this in the morning, my rosacea was 99% gone. It also has reduced the look of dark freckles on my forehead and just gave my skin a natural glow (not shine!). Everyone is telling me they've never seen my skin look so good and I credit it all to this stuff. If you're on the fence, seriously try it. It's a potion made from Professor Slughorn himself, I swear.

This is not the best brightening product I've tried. It tends to work sometimes, but I think my skin just needs something stronger.

I am on my second bottle of this I love it so much! I use as a part of my night routine. Apply to a damp face and follow up with moisturizer. Skin is dewy and glowing all night long and into the morning!

I use this every morning by mixing with my day cream, it helps reduce the shine. If used alone or apply too much product it leaves you really shiny. A little goes a long way.

The research shows that derivatives of vitamin C isn't comparable and definitely did absolutely nothing much for my skin but hydrate it. Maybe. Who even knows.

I have been using this serum every other night by itself right before I go to sleep for 2-3 months now and wow. My skin has NEVER been this beautiful. I get compliments on my skin when I'm walking around bare-faced. Even my mom, who always wondered why my skin was so "dull" was amazed when she saw me. This serum will brighten your skin like no other and create an insane inner glow. Plus, over time, it will help to even out any discoloration & speeds up the healing process for breakouts. I've tried chemical peels, other serums, and even Curology. NOTHING works as well as this does. Its heaven sent.

MILD so far! I have sensitive skin. I've slowly added this to my routine after starting with The Ordinary Peeling solution then, the Toner. I have only used the Retinol serum a few times, just in case I react. Initially, I had deep breakouts and some surface pimples. I used Benzoyl Peroxide and a Salicylic acid spot treatment to help those along. A few weeks into use and I still have a few pimples coming up. I am not bothered by them but expected my skin to adjust to the chemicals. I like the feel of this on my skin. Also added a hyaluronic moisturizer and night time retinol moisturizer cream. My intent was to treat sun spots and a dry area of skin.

I LOVE how this feels. So many Vitamin C serums are sticky and oily, but this sinks in beautifully. Can't speak to long term effects of this vit c derivative, but it sits beautifully on the face.

I use this product after I double cleanse and before my moisturizer. I use about 4-5 drops for my whole face I normally wait 5-10 minutes to let the serum absorb as much as possible. I have to say it does leave the skin a little sticky sometimes before the moisturizer but it's not super uncomfortable. I have noticed if I use more than 4-5 drops my skin is a lot stickier. I did do a patch test before trying it out on my face. Normally with Vitamin C serums it's stingy and can be too harsh for me. I've had no adverse reactions so far. I use it daily in the morning and at night I use a different serum. It's only been a few weeks so I can't comment yet on how well it works or not.

I will update this review after I finish the whole bottle but as of right now I've been using it for about a month and a half and I'm not sure how I feel. My skin is very normal, I thought adding vitamin C would be great for preventing skin discoloration and fine lines (I'm only 22) and fixing some texture, some slight acne scars, and brighten my complexion. But I don't know if this is really doing anything for my skin. I think when I finish the bottle, I'll hold off on buying for a couple weeks to see if my skin looks worse without it. For now, I don't see any changes.

I have extremely dry and acne prone skin so I was nervous about trying anything too harsh and not for acne specifically, but needed something to brighten my skin and rid my dark spots. I did a lot of looking around at the differences between this derivative and the L-ascorbic acid and saw that this specific product would be okay for skin with acne. I am SO glad I tried it despite what everyone said about it not doing anything for them! I have so many dark spots from acne and spots from the sun because I'm out in it everyday... this has greatly reduced them in THREE DAYS. Not even kidding. My skin looks so clean and clear. And no breakouts yet...! Just try it! If it doesn't do anything, return it and try the Ascorbic Acid one they have!

Within just a few uses, I immediately noticed how much softer and hydrated my skin feels. My skin texture is much more even.

I got this simply because I needed an extra item for free shipping. I read the description and said "sure why not" and it blew me away... I had discoloration around my mouth and dark circles under my eyes that were noticeably lighter after a couple weeks of usage. I've noticed this works great if incorporated into your nightly serum. I always add two drops to rose hip oil and apply. Oh, and I know this isn't an intended use but if you have a bad facial sunburn, I use this and it's gone in the morning. Just make sure you follow up with a rich moisturizer.

I've been using this serum for a couple months now and haven't really noticed any changes in my acne scars or dark spots. It's a decent serum, but I might need something a little stronger.

I used a gentler vitamin c serum for over a year, gave this one a try as I have some dark acne scars. After the first couple uses I experienced a small break out, but found out that was due to purging of the skin. Since this is a regenerative serum it was pulling out deep breakouts and regenerating the skin cells faster. After using for about a month now I'm in love. Break outs had stopped and I'm seeing major fading of acne scars. Great product, just have to let it run it's course!

This is a great vitamin c product for sensitive skin. Great for all skin types , doesn't cause breakouts. Gentle form of vitamin c just without the irritation .
Yes if you use too much and put moisturizer over it, yes it will pill a bit but nothing crazy. I use daytime before moisturizer and foundation primer. vitamin c does its job best during daylight hours in case you are in the sun. I use at night sometimes, but I done put anything over it .

Such an amazing price! I've been using this for a few weeks with other The Ordinary products and I can already tell the positive affect it is having on my skin. Love it! I have combination skin and this has been great. It dries and absorbs quickly and there is no smell.

I may try cutting back to useing this twice a week. I have a habit of over using products. And I am not typically sensitive but in my areas of cheeks where I have previous problems from acne and scarring. it causes a bit of irritation if I use this with my RF LED facial wand/ machine. Could be the device so I won't 100% say it is the product but still use caution with anything in this line as it is near medical grade
