Q
Hey! What is the difference between this & hypochlorous acid?
Asked by K
Official Answer By La Roche-Posay - BE
Hello there! Our Thermal Spring Water is naturally rich in minerals and antioxidants, sourced from our thermal spring in France. It’s known for its soothing and anti-irritant properties. Hypochlorous acid, on the other hand, is a lab-created antiseptic with antimicrobial properties. While both can be used on the skin, they have different purposes. Our Thermal Spring Water is primarily for soothing and hydrating sensitive skin, while hypochlorous acid is more focused on cleansing and managing bacterial concerns. For further information on the specific benefits and usage of hypochlorous acid, we recommend consulting with a dermatologist or other healthcare professional. They can best advise you on which product is most suitable for your specific skin needs. Was this answer helpful to you

Best Facial Spray

I have tested a variety of facial mists/sprays and this is definitely the best one. Especially for my super sensitive skin. It doesn't sting my face! It's a great way to refresh throughout the day when you notice your skin needs a bit of boost of hydration. I use it all the time. My morning routine,...

This item feels nice...

This item feels nice and does not leave a sticky residue behind. It dries down and leaves well...nothing. It feels like water in a can. I am in my late 30's and do not have any significant wrinkles and little sun damage. I do however have skin that tends to be sensitive and on the dryer side at time...

A great product...when it sprays. Otherwise, just pricey H2O

This product has been a boon for my facial eczema and perioral dermatitis...when the spray nozzle works. Went through 2.5 bottles without issue until one day my 10 oz can stops spraying. Bought another can--same problem. Needs major redesign.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

A No Go From Me

This really seemed to have a lot going for it from what I had read and seen in reviews. However, I had to return it and get a refund. I don't know what's in this water that my skin hates, but this irritated my skin something fierce! Almost immediately I felt a burning sensation, and it didn't stop. I had to wash my face. My skin was so irritated it took a couple of days of me babying it for it to calm down. I'm not saying this is a bad product; I'm saying it's not for me. If you haven't used this before, make sure to test it on a small area of your face first, and if it stings or burns, wash it off immediately. Fortunately, I then tried the water from Avene, and that works for me. If this doesn't work out for you, try the one from Avene.

Perfect for burning irritated skin

I have a malar rash from an autoimmune disease which makes my cheeks red, senstive, and burn with the heat of a thousand suns. This is a life saver. Quickly calms my skin throughout the day. Easy to carry around in your bag or keep in the fridge. Perfect for waking up, going to bed, after the shower, before skin care, after makeup, and just using throughout the day to cool down.

Expected it to Do Nothing

I was originally expecting to return this product, i figured it wouldn't do much but it did actually help during some of my reactive moments. I wouldn't say it's "intensely soothing" like the description says but definitely medium level assistance. It has even helped me when I've had redness/itching due exposure to an allergen. It reduced the redness and stopped the itching. I wasn't even following directions properly (never patted or wiped the product off). I recommend trying it out.
