The only drawback you'll find is that because there is no hold in the straight guard, the definition of the curls did not last throughout the day. For smoothing and defining curls with a light-weight hold, we recommend our new CHI Styling Cream Gel. It is actually Zendaya's favorite product to use on her naturally curly hair. I have very thick type 4 hair and I often used to find myself struggling looking for a good heat protectant but once I came across this it's been game over. I've been using this for almost 2yrs now and it still does an amazing job at protecting my hair, I'll admit though it does dry out your hair so what I do is I pump the treatment in my hand and I mix it with 3 different oils that moisturize my hair and that dryness is gone it makes my hair feel soft and moisturized. Just the other day my hair braided was complementing how soft and moisturized my hair felt.

my absolute favorite product for my hair. I have naturally curly hair and hate it but I wash my hair twice a week and blow dry and use a straightener. it makes my hair soft and smooth, not greasy like many other products have. it lasts until my next wash. I will never use another product.

okay, but...
no one seems to mention the very strong smell. The product seemed okay, but it made my head pound from the scent. I tried it a second time, but had to rewash my hair to get it out. I had the same effect with the matching spray.
Doesn't work
I wanted to find a product to protect my hair from heat - I was under the impression that aside from helping with frizz (the claim is sort of true), it makes my hair knotty, not smooth and even harder to style. I wish I had returned it before it was too late.
