This serum has changed my face

This serum has changed my face and simplified my routine. I used to layer a whole lot of different serums and creams, different ingredients to do different things, but then this one came along and cleared out my cupboard. Firstly I pop on a generous dollop of The Ordinary "Niacinamide & Zinc" seru...

Disappointed

I really love this company and their products but this one was a miss for me. Not only did it not treat the redness, but it actually amplified it. When I put it on, my skin reacts to it and I turn cherry red. I really wanted to love this product.

Calms some redness I have on my checks. Feels so smooth and hydrating, works well with other products to minimize my blemishes and pores.

Coming around to this!

At first I tried layering this serum with other serums and got a lot of redness. I almost tossed it, but tried it again with just an HA moisturizer on top and—wow. I struggle with dry patches on my cheeks in the winter and this gave me the soft, plump skin that I am barely able to achieve with a whole arsenal of (sometimes vastly more expensive) products. Sometimes less is more! This is now a winter staple for me. I even put a couple of drops on my sun-damaged forearms, which have been looking terrible this winter, and I'm amazed at how much better they look (temporarily). The only thing I'm not crazy about is the smell, which is kind of chemical-y. And what makes it pink? But I'll definitely repurchase!

20/10, Fav INSANE Hydrating TREATMENT (not daily serum)

I've tried SEVERAL (25-30) hydrating serums within the past few years, a lot of them $80+ , yet this is my favorite one which I have been using for YEARS. However, I would not say this is a daily serum if you have overall oily or well-hydrated skin. If you have never tried this before, I would highly recommend using it only 2-3 times a week and slowly work your way up to see how much moisture you really need. OR even try just spot usage on the places that need the most moisture. I am 29 and have combination skin (oily t-zone + normal to dry skin everywhere else depending on the season), my skin is also very sensitive. When I first started using this, I used it every day and LOVED it bc it feels like your skin is literally chugged water that doesn't evaporate. However, I noticed that I started getting little bumps around my t-zone and around my nose. I realized after some time that this serum, for me at least, wasn't meant to be used as a daily/all-year/all over the face-use item. In the summer, I almost never use it, except maybe around my eyes before I applied an eye cream or for other spot treatment of dry areas. My skin gets super dry in the winter, and it becomes my DAILY serum for maybe a week every few weeks to bring back moisture to my face. More so like a treatment, if anything. (Literally nothing else I've tried only gives INSTANT moisture as deep as this. Nothing stops the peeling or itchy feeling on my face like this.) I will use a toner, apply this, then a hylauronic acid serum, and a moisturizer at night. In the morning, I will do the same thing except replace the moisturizer with a hydrating korean sunscreen. Sometimes I skip the hylauronic acid depending on how my skin is feeling. I also have sensitive, allergy-prone skin, so I like to use this when I have a bad reaction to something new. OH, and if I do a chemical peel mask, strong retinol treatment, or prescription tre tinoin treatment, I will lather this stuff on before and after. It does wonders. TRY IT!! Just not too often if you're just starting out.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend
