It's the consistency of water so you'll apply some... to a cotton ball or pad to take off any makeup (this is safe to use on eyes and lips) or to pat onto your skin and certain problem areas. The extra perk with some of these cleansers is the addition of salicylic acid. Salicylic acid helps with a whole host of issues like inflammation and excessive oil production, it helps with exfoliating and softening skin too and can even help with acne and psoriasis. The benefits of salicylic acid come from using it consistently, so make sure to use this wash daily to achieve noticable results, Garnier suggests using it morning and evening and that you'll notice improvements to your skin in two weeks. This is a no rinse formula as it leaves no sticky residue. I've found it removes makeup easily, if you have a lot of mascara on you may need to go back over your eyes again but that's pretty typical. I also didn't notice any dry, tight feeling to my skin after using it like I've found with some other similar cleansers. There's also no burning or tingling while using it like astringents/toners can cause. This product would be the first step in a multi part skin routine but it's mild enough to use alone, skipping a moisturizer if you're in a hurry or just ready to go to bed. I've used this for nearly two weeks at night to remove makeup and I have noticed my skin feeling soft and smooth. I'll definitely continue using it to see if I notice anymore long term improvements like smaller looking pores! Garnier makes this product in the USA and it's certified cruelty free. It's also free of any alcohol or fragrance. This is a large bottle that you could use many, many times to remove make up and as a general cleanser. It's a great bargain considering the small amount you need vs the large volume you get. I would definitely recommend this as a good quality cleanser that nearly anyone would benefit from adding to their skin care routine.
