With gloves, apply the Color Depositing Treatment Mask evenly to dry hair. Allow it to infuse for 10-15 minutes, embracing the transformation. You can leave it on longer for a deeper condition. I used to LOVE the chocolate brown color to help cover my greys. Used it for years! It would turn them a pretty goldish color. Sometimes I'd even add the red for brown hair for a more red undertone. They recently changed the formula of the chocolate brown- the last batch I got was noticeably a different color. I tried it anyway and it turned my grey hairs GREEN! I emailed them and they confirmed the formula change- would have been nice to know as a longtime customer. I used to use another brown color they had but they discontinued it, and now this. Guess I'm off to find a new brand. Disappointed.

Overtone, why did you change your formula? The previous formula used to cover my gray hair so nicely, giving golden highlights. Now your new formula is visibly different; thinner and more gel-like. And there is very little, if any gray coverage now. I've been a customer for years, but now I don't know what to do with the two jars of color depositing treatment mask that I ordered. I'll have to find a new brand of color mask that actually has gray coverage.

WARNING WARNING! I have been using Extreme Green for a year or two and this color is NOT the same as Extreme Green, they have added a lot of blue. In addition, they have clearly changed their formula - after letting it sit almost an hour, my hair came out in three or four different unexpected shades for the first time ever using this product, even though I was just redying. Maybe they made a change to cheaper ingredients? It's very disappointing since this is their only 'green' right now so I'll have to find a different hair dye brand entirely.

Have used many different Overtone colors with great success for 5 years and the Smokey purple is the first that left hair color totally unchanged. The sample image Overtone posted on what to expect on medium blonde hair made me think I would get a subtle grayish purple color. After leaving the hair fully saturated with the color for over 45 minutes, no purple color is visible. Attached is the "after" photo. No purple at all. Do not recommend. Big disappointment and waste of time & money. Perhaps Overtone should offer this only for bleached hair.
