Would you say this is a step up from the other hair dryer in the babyliss line? As a past user of an older hairdryer in this line I finally upgraded and wanted to know that my hair would still be healthy and long after transitioning!

Hello, since we're not sure what you are currently up-grading from, we can definitely confirm the Rapido dryer is one of our best selling, best performing dryer. The Rapido dryer dries hair faster than the other blow dryers, so it causes less heat damage to your hair aiding in helping to keep your hair healthy. The Rapido also has True ion generator which emits millions of negative ions to eliminate frizz and seal the hair cuticles for shiny, healthy looking hair. Hope this helps. Why is the Rapido more expensive than the Volare?
Asked by Shamrock
Official Answer By BaBylissPRO - BE - Disabled
Hello, the Rapido has a brushless motor and the Volare has an AC motor. The brushless motor will most likely last longer (10,000hrs) vs an AC motor (2,000hrs). Thank you.Was this answer helpful to you

I just purchased this dryer and there is a little pause or delay before it turns on and starts blowing. Is this the way it supposed to be? I've owned several Baybiss dryers and I've never had any dryer do this. .
Asked by Kate
Official Answer By BaBylissPRO - BE - Disabled
Hi, yes, the delay is perfectly normal. It is a brushless motor, so it takes a second to kick in all that power. Thank you.Was this answer helpful to you

Can't believe I'm writing a dryer review but it's THAT good!

I was looking for a new hair dryer and wanted one with a lot of power that had variable settings, a diffuser, and wasn't too loud. I looked at various models and decided to give this a shot. I forget if it has 2000 watts or more than 2000 but either way, most dryers have between 1375 and 1875 watts ...

Waste of money

I love my babyliss blow dryer, but once your concentrator breaks, it becomes a paper weight! None of the attachments actually fit. Even after emailing Babyliss support, they recommend I go to Sally's with my blow dryer to test out their after market pieces. For this reason I honestly don't know if I...

This is a really good dryer

When my old T3 dryer broke recently, I began the hunt for a new one. I didn't want anything over the top, just something that worked well and would be dependable for the next 10 or so years (that's how long I had my T3). I tried a couple other brands and ended up returning them for various reasons. Then I found BaByliss and the price point as well as the reputation of the brand seemed right. I love that this dryer has varying speed and heat settings (one of the other dryers I tried had just one HOT heat setting). I have a lot of hair that typically takes a while to dry, and I DO feel that this dryer dries my hair more quickly than anything else I've had in the past. I like that it came with the 2 attachment nozzles (and that it had the option to buy a diffuser attachment separately, which I did). It really is so lightweight and a breeze to use. I'm glad I tried it in store against the Portofino, because this one is significantly quieter and had a much softer hum, which I can only assume is from the brushless motor. I haven't had any issues with the controls being on the handle like others have mentioned, but I could see how to placement might not work for some. The one reason that I did not give this 5 stars is because I don't feel that it makes my hair look totally silky smooth like my T3 did. It has the True Ion generator, so I figured it would give me the same sleek results as my T3, but I am seeing more fly aways popping up with this dryer, and I don't feel that it leaves my hair looking as smooth or hydrated as my T3. But alas, you can't have it all, and this is a really great dryer.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Super high airflow

I have a short haircut that I style using my blow dryer and round brush. I had high hopes for this dryer but the heat seemed too high even at the low set and ditto with the airspeed. Difficult to control as a styling tool.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

LOVE IT

Amazing for blowouts on my long naturally curly 2b/2c hair. It's the perfect combo of speed and heat to make the process as fast as possible with NO scorch. The cool shot gets actually cool faster than any other dryer I've used. My last dryers were Shark and ghd—not bad or cheap products by any means. But especially for blowouts, this one is the absolute best!

With long thick hair, hair washing/blow drying days are the worst!! But not with this hair dryer!! Maybe 10 minutes and that's with no air drying before hand! Worth every single dollar!!!
