On my first use I noticed the iron makes a steaming, or slight sizzling sound; it does this when idle and when using. Is this normal or is mine defective? Otherwise seems to work good.

The sound that you hear is actually the ion generator, which emits millions of negative ions to help combat frizz. Was this answer helpful to you

Hello! You just answered my question about the dual voltage, thank you! I got my mom this straightener in December 2021. The chord is different from mine (thicker and fabric?). Would this one have the dual voltage?

When did Babyliss start making this straightener dual voltage? I got mine back in 2020 and want to bring it to Italy with me but am seeing it use to not be dual voltage. Thank you!
Asked by Juliet

Hello, because you purchased your Prima back in 2020, it most likely did NOT have Dual Voltage integrated as of yet. I would air on the side of caution, and not risk damaging your unit by bringing it. Thank you.Was this answer helpful to you

DO NOT BUY

I bought this and used it with no issues for 6 months. Then last week it FRIED my hair. My long hair is DONE and still, after washing, smells burnt. Then when I went to turn it back on to try it on a lower setting, it wouldn't heat up. I think the heating coil got overly hot the last time I did my h...

This is a nice flat iron on a professional level. My hairstylist has it and I loved how my hair felt each time I had my hair done. Now I can have that everyday. 😃

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Good iron, does a good job but exterior is HOT

Submitted 24 days ago

By Lydia

From Houston, TX

The exterior of this iron is designed to allow for curl styling all around the iron. With this in mind, care needs to be exercised. I have 3b hair and this straightens nicely. I have burned my neck, head and hands on occasion. As long as I was extra careful, I could manage, but I eventually opted for another iron because I had one too many burns. I will add that my iron did come with glove/finger protection that was cumbersome to put on every time I needed to style my hair, not to mention, I need to feel my hair to guide it through the iron.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

Best Styling Tool I've Ever Used!

Submitted 25 days ago

By Mary

From St Louis

Bought this about 2 years ago, after my hairdresser used her's on my hair & recommended it. I've tried regular curling irons & 2 different brands of auto wrap types. I have long, thick hair, and I am not got at styling it. This is by far the easiest to use & the most effective tool for curling, for an amateur like me. I love this thing!

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend
