Press the Power button to turn the iron on. Buttons will illuminate and screen will display temperature when device is powered on. Toggle using the + and - buttons to select your preferred temperature.
For straight styles:
- Start with completely dry, detangled hair.
- Clamp a 1-2" section of hair at the roots.
- Glide iron down slowly and gently from root to tip.
- Repeat on other sections of hair for a smooth, sleek finish.
For curls or waves:
- Start with completely dry, detangled hair.
- Clamp a 1-2" section of hair near the roots. Twist the iron 180 degrees, then glide plates through to the ends.
- Repeat on other sections of hair for beautiful, bouncy curls and waves.
Caution: External plates get hot. Use cool tip, and wear the included heat-resistant glove for extra comfort when styling.

I decided to try this after my 10+ year old Hot Tools died. This is a horrible straightener. The plates dont clamp correctly so you can't get a good grip on your hair. There are also gaps on the side of the plate, so it snags your hair and rips it out. It also makes a very annoying buzzing noise. ...

Heated plates do not close properly
The plates do not meet evenly and do not effectively style my hair. I have fine, fairly straight hair and just wanted this to smooth it out or straighten little flips at the end and occasionally add a beach wave. However, it is difficult to use. In order to get it to straighten my hair, I have to wear the glove and squeeze down the barrel directly over my hair to get it to work. Wearing the glove makes it difficult to feel the next section of hair. This is the worst straightener I have ever used and will be returning it.

Not great
I bought this to both straighten and curl my daughter's natural hair. Usually, I use my flat iron to straighten and then use my ceramic curlers to curl. I just wanted to reduce time. This is great for curling but terrible for flat ironing. Not a 2/1.
