- Dip the e.l.f. Eyeshadow Brush or e.l.f. Wide Tapered Eyeshadow Brush into Liquid Velvet Eyeshadow (brushes sold separately).
- Gently swipe liquid eyeshadow onto eyelids then use the brush or your fingertip to tap and blend.

Smooth, matte and surprisingly versatile
I actually ended up loving this more than I expected. The texture is super smooth and velvety, and once it dries down it doesn't crease or budge. The color I used was a little too close to my skin tone and slightly ashy on its own, so I used it as a base instead of a standalone shadow and it worked...

Longwearing
[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] I love this color and this undertone. It applies seamlessly and a little goes such a long way. I have worn this on these hot days and I do not find that this creases or separates on my lids which sense to happen especially during theme park days. It doesn't feel sticky or tacky in it layers well with a powder on top. I'm super impressed by this.

Smudge proof and no fall out!
[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] As this eyeshadow in shade Currant Mood is applied, you're able to easily manipulate the pigment across the eye before it dries down. There was no fall out on my face makeup, and once it dries down completely, it is smudge proof! It feels light on the eyes even after all day wear.

, as you apply this magic for the first time -- and then grab your phone to order every color you can get your hands on. It's that good. This is the eyeshadow for those of us who love easy, subtle, polished eye looks that stay put. Just use a tiny dot to start with. Less is really more, and it's buildable. I especially love the way this formula softly blends to the gods -- look Ma, no harsh lines! -- before drying down to unbudgable. I usually use a brush, but a fingertip does fine when I'm in a rush. These shadows dry down velvet smooth and soft. They don't crease on my 62 year-old lids, even without prep. Micellar water takes it off, but plain water won't. The colors are subtle and gorgeous. I now have three in permanent rotation: Beige and Bougie, Cable Knit and Toasted. Beige is especially great as an all-over base for powder shadow when you're feeling extra (a quick press of light shimmer on the lid is gorgeous). Alone, it's a very fast yet polished no-makeup look. The two darker colors, I usually use for gently contouring my crease, with a tiny bit underneath my eye, using a very fine brush and blended out and up towards the end of my eyebrow into a super-soft smudged "wing." But either of the brown colors also work well on my eyelids as one-and-done to emphasize my blue eyes. The hack here is to dot sparingly and blend one eye at a time. I'm an admitted makeup fanatic (send help), but my budget doesn't match. All three of these Elf shadows cost less than a single Makeup by Mario or Armani they dupe. That's what I'm talking about, Elf. Warning: Your $8 will quickly multiply, as you apply this magic for the first time -- and then grab your phone to order every color you can get your hands on.
