Super messy, was on more than my lips!

First, I'd like to thank Buzz Agent and Anastasia for the opportunity to be among the first beauty enthusiasts to take Lip Velvet, their latest lipstick line, for a test drive via two free samples of the 6 available colors. In return, I'm sharing an absolutely honest review based solely on my person...al opinion of this lipstick. I received Lip Velvet in Crush and Parchment. Both are dominantly neutral, however "Parchment" appears slightly orangish and is a tad darker while "Crush" is lighter and leans just a little towards pink. I'm describing the shades because I found the color represented on the package is different than the actual product, especially Parchment, which appears much darker and a different hue. The applicator wand is oval but flat with a slight angle, which makes it easy to apply both the top and bottom evenly. I also like the twist and lock design, you know the tube is locked up tight, so you won't find the lid rolling around in your bag. The texture is luxurious, it glides across your lips just like the name says…velvet. It feels soft and clean, not even in the realm of sticky. It's a semi gloss/semi matte finish, very contradictory but true. It does go on much lighter than color depicted on the box, more like a tint or stain. I spent a full day wearing each shade and surprisingly, there were a couple major differences. First, I used Crush and not what a mess! This lipstick was seriously everywhere! There were little "lumps" all around my lip line, these quickly spread to my hands, shirt, forehead and my lips looked like I smeared chocolate ice cream all over my mouth! I almost didn't want to try the other shade after the previous days experience, but I wasn't going anywhere so I gave it a go. This one didn't clump or smear at all, it looked quite nice and fit my lip shape and defined the cupids bow, but definitely not a good color match for my skin tone.
