I was reading the reviews on this because I have a l'ange straightener but it's not the digital one, I love it but the plates are damaged which is in turn causing breakage to my hair (just from how long I've had it and regular ware and tear) but I read a lot that this straightener will just stop working without warning, what would be the cause of that and could it be prevented?

Stopped Working
Straightner stopped working within 8 months of purchasing. Ulta was no help, their customer service line was also no help. Do not recommend this product at all.
Don't do it.
This straightener skips down your hair and leaves edges. I've read and re-read instructions in case I'm missing something but it sucks. I wish it wasn't passed the amount of time to return it! Gave is 2 stars for the pretty pink color.
The worst hair straightener I've ever bought!
I bought this hair straightener on black friday and decided to use it today. When i turned it on I realized, it was making weird noises which I thought was weird but whatever. After straightening my hair, my whole head is frizzy!!! Do NOT buy this!!!
Best Straightener I Have Had in Years!
This straightner exceeded my expectations and the high ratings are accurate. Easily straightens hair with limited passes. I can change the temperature easily however the only con is that it doesnt hold my desired temperature in its "memory", I have to adjust each time I turn the straightener on (which is fine). Overall great straightner with a reasonable price.
Quit Working
I really liked how this flat iron worked until one day it kept shutting off and now it doesn't work at all. I had it maybe 2 years and now I'm seeing multiple reviews with the same complaint. I do not recommend this flat iron.
