Best I've ever used

I've been professionally coloring for 30 years. This is by far the best shampoo I've found for color treated hair. And I've tried shampoos at TWICE the price. It cleans thoroughly yet gently and give nice body. Some color shampoos are so weak they leave an itchy film. Not so Paul Mitchell. Love it

Removes haircolor and greasy feel

I was recommended this product after they used it at super cuts. I got my hair colored and bought it since it says it helps color treated hair last longer. Within a week it began stripping the hair color each time I would used it. Then it left my hair greasy. People we're asking when I last washed m...

Good versatility, useful as a pre-shampoo for 1st wash. Foamed up, clean rinse and got my hair ready for a second wash using my other luxe shampoo. Will definitely use as a travel / after pool shampoo.

Does NOT protect hair color

This shampoo contains sulfates. Sulfates are highly known to damage hair color, so why they would put this in a "color protect" shampoo is beyond me. This shampoo dried my hair out so much, and ruined my bayalage highlights. I noticed that my hightlights became brassy much faster than normal, and did some research on this shampoo and founf it to contain sulfates. Needless to say, I will not be using this shampoo any longer. I highly recommend Olaplex. My hair is incredibly soft, feels thicker, and is protecting my color wonderfully. All in under just 5 uses.

I've been using the Paul Mitchell Protect Shampoo, and overall, it's a solid choice if you're looking for gentle daily cleansing while keeping your hair healthy. The formula is lightweight, lathers nicely, and leaves my hair feeling clean without that stripped or overly dry feeling. I especially appreciate that it's designed to help protect hair from heat styling and environmental damage, which makes it a good match for people who blow-dry, straighten, or curl regularly. The scent is fresh and pleasant but not overpowering, and it rinses out easily without leaving buildup. After a few washes, I noticed my hair felt smoother, looked shinier, and seemed easier to manage. For color-treated hair, it does a decent job of helping maintain vibrancy, though it may not replace a color-specific shampoo. On the downside, it's a bit pricier compared to drugstore options, and if you have very dry or curly hair, you might need to pair it with a rich conditioner for extra moisture.
