why don't you make this shampoo sulfate free (not sodium c14-16 olefin sulfonate - it's too rough on hair), and take out the dimethicone/silicone (because it really flattens hair), and make it a little thicker, especially the larger bottles (because it's too runny)? leave the other ingredients the way they are, and you would have the best shampoo for color treated hair out there!
- Asked by Cricket
- Official Answer By Paul MitchellThank you for your feedback. You may enjoy Clean Beauty Everyday Shampoo. It is sulfate free and great for a color safe, everyday cleanser. Why would you put Sulfates in a Color Protect shampoo?
- Asked by terri
- Official Answer By Paul MitchellWhen a product claims to be “sulfate-free,” it's typically free of one of three commonly used compounds in shampoo: Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, or Ammonium Laureth Sulfate. In the industry, these compounds are known by the acronyms SLES, SLS, and ALS.Was this answer helpful to you

What does the shampoo smell like?
- Asked by Kenia
- Verified Reply - Brand ExpertA young-at-heart and refreshingly energetic fruity floral with opening notes of apple blossoms, bright citrus notes with crisp leafy greens and bergamot leading the way into a heart combining golden lilies, gardenia, violet leaves and soft wild flowers. Best I've ever used
I've been professionally coloring for 30 years. This is by far the best shampoo I've found for color treated hair. And I've tried shampoos at TWICE the price. It cleans thoroughly yet gently and give nice body. Some color shampoos are so weak they leave an itchy film. Not so Paul Mitchell. Love it

Removes haircolor and greasy feel
I was recommended this product after they used it at super cuts. I got my hair colored and bought it since it says it helps color treated hair last longer. Within a week it began stripping the hair color each time I would used it. Then it left my hair greasy. People we're asking when I last washed m...

Gave my hair a weird film
This product made my hair feel weighted down and dirty like it had a film on it. Also my normally shiny hair looked dull.
Amazing product
First time ever that I love a colocare shampoo and conditioner and I've tried many. Perfect amount of softness and beautiful shine. Leaves my dry, frizzy, color treated hair in perfect condition. Highly recommend.

Paul Mitchell Color Protect Shampoo is a reliable choice for color-treated hair. It lathers well, cleans gently, and helps maintain vibrancy. The scent is light and pleasant, and the bottle is easy to handle. While the formula feels nourishing, results may vary depending on hair type. Overall, it's a solid option for extending the life of your hair color."
