Q&A

Q
How can this product be used for color treated hair if it contains sulfates? I color my hair with a semi permanent product - will this shampoo be safe to use or will it strip the color?
Asked by Confused about sulfates
Official Answer By Paul Mitchell
With certain formulas, sulfates can still be gentle on color-treated hair. Color-safe shampoos are specially formulated with ingredients to help keep your color vibrant while cleansing effectively. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
Can this shampoo and matching conditioner be used on keratin treated hair?
Asked by Felicia
Official Answer By Paul Mitchell
Awapuhi Shampoo contains sulfates and is not recommended for hair treated with a keratin smoothing treatment. Awapuhi Conditioner is sulfate-free and suitable for use on keratin-treated hairWas this answer helpful to you
Q
I have used the Extra Body Shampoo for 30 years. It is good for fine straight hair. Now that my hair seems more dry, I still use it, but less often, alternating with other shampoos or skipping days. My question is: is the Awapuhi shampoo just as good for fine straight hair that will be limp and look oily (even if it's not) with many moisturizing shampoos? Or will it not have the extra-body effect, or make medium-light fine straight hair look flat?
Asked by Occam
Official Answer By Paul Mitchell
Awapuhi Shampoo is a naturally moisturizing formula that adds some volume, while Extra-Body Shampoo primarily focuses on providing volume and body. Was this answer helpful to you
Q
What happened to all of the natural ingredients? I no longer see rosemary, white ginger, jojoba, aloe. I thought I saw that the formula didn't change but it must have because I compared my old bottle to this one.

Why doesn't this company make a matching conditioner to the Awapuhi shampoo? Ive always wondered this. If you read alot of the Q & A's, lots of people ask if there is a matching conditioner. Do companies not realize that's what women want? We love matching shampoo and conditioner. Especially to one of the best smelling shampoos of all time. We want them to smell the same. Duh!

I've tried it all...

I've tried almost every shampoo imaginable. From the cheapest to the most expensive... I don't know how I could have overlooked it. I remember using this shampoo as a teenager but I happened to try it again as a sample in a hotel!!! I was hooked and kept the bottle as I went in search of the sha...

Comments about 33.8 fl. oz. (L)

I have very long, wavy/curly hair. I love this leave-in conditioner because it helps somewhat with the static cling that my hair gets in the winter time due to the use of dry heat. It also works as a great detangler for long hair.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

From New Orleans, La

I am a blonde that regularly gets bleach/lifts in my hair for upkeep. I had to change hairdressers as mine that i used for multiple years moved out of state. Well, needless to say, this new one left my hair feeling and looking like straw. I have take a break from bleaching my hair and it seemed like it was never healing, always breaking… i lost my waist length hair due to trying to salvage the damage. THIS SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER HAS MADE A TON OF DIFFERENCE! I just began using it within the last 3 weeks and OMG!!! I am IN LOVE WITH THIS STUFF! Please dont ever discontinue this product! You have a forever buyer here!!!

Comments about Default Title

I bought refill packs of Awapuhi shampoo which I've used for years and love. The refill packs are a great idea, rather than having to order a new bottle. However, the shampoo seems a bit different - thicker and with a sweeter, more artificial smell. I wonder if the formula has changed?

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend
