Most Helpful Positive Review DOES NOT DISAPPOINT!! GREAT PRODUCT!!
When our dog chewed up the cord to my Babyliss flat iron I was pretty upset! I recently got turned onto Dry Bar products after a visit to a salon in Las Vegas so I decided to bring another bright yellow product into my bathroom. Since Dry Bar actually uses these same products in their salon, I feel like they are well made and designed smart. If you have a business of styling hair day in and day out you figure out quick what works and what doesn't.
This flat iron does a better job then my Babyliss did!! My hair is thick and course with what I consider "Stubborn Waves". I also love the good thick long cords that their products have. I've been using it for about 2 months and love it!!!!
Most Helpful Critical Review I really wanted to love this.
I was in the market for a new flat iron since my hot tools broke after 4 months. I figured it was time to get a better investment and ultimately narrowed it down to two choices, I was torn between this and the babyliss nano. I ultimately decided to try this one becuase I figured DryBar has AMAZING products (seriously, try their dry shampoo) and they don't color or cut hair, they do blowouts and style so this had to be the one!I got home and obviously had to try it out right away, curled my hair and was so impressed with the volume and curls I was able to create but realized the paint was chipping around the plates. I am so disappointed. i googled and saw others with the same issues and yet I am still debating keeping because of how great the flat iron works. If the paint was durable then I would recommend this to everyone, however I am not sure how great the quality will be long-term if it is already showing some major wear after one night using.

I use this almost everyday. It straightens and curls perfectly!
I'd give it zero stars if I could

I bought this 13 months ago and after spending a substantial chunk of change on it- figured it would last me for years like my last Chi did (7 years!). I was wrong. Not only did one plate stop working all together, the paint is chipped beyond belief and I am not that hard on my products. They do have a 2 year warranty so I'm waiting for them to sort that out but I'd really just like my money back and to get one that will last! Wish I'd read reviews before buying so I could have stuck to my tried and true. DO NOT BUY!
Mine's 2 years old now and still works great

I don't want to let so many negative reviews scare people off. I would give it 5 stars, but I really do wish that the plates were longer. I bought a Babyliss at the same time that I bought this one like a previous reviewer did lol. I also returned the babyliss. That thing snagged my hair horribly.
Before I started using this, I had a 12+ year old Chi. When I got it, Chi was one of few companies who made high end flat irons lol. Makes me feel so old haha. The ones from back then were actually high quality. Like I said, over 12 years old and it still works well. Plus the plates are longer. The on/off switch snapped off a few years ago. I cried lol. I sorta fixed that with superglue by gluing it into the on position. So whenever it's plugged in, it's on. I dealt with that for years, but kept leaving the house and then getting paranoid that I'd forgotten to unplug it. A few times I actually did, eek.
I finally decided that I'd just get one with auto shutoff. When I bought mine, I read a million reviews. A lot of people complained about chipping paint. I wasn't too worried about that. I thought oh well, I won't care if it's ugly as long as it gets the job done. Maybe I'm just lucky, but mine hasn't chipped at all. When reading the reviews before I bought it, I thought that maybe using the higher heat settings caused the paint to chip off. Now I don't think that that causes it because I usually crank it up to 400-425 -gasp-. Lol, hair is stubborn, okay.
I really hope that it lasts for at least a long time.
Disappointing Product from Massachusetts
It's a nope from me. Stopped working after about a year of owning it. Paint is chipping, and has discoloration. Such a bummer because I love the wrap party from Drybar. Hoping that last longer than this..
I would not buy this product again

Do not buy dry bar flat iron! I bought my first one and it stopped working within a year. Just thought it was a fluke so bought another, it made it a little over a year... I can't believe I wasted so much money!!!
Not as good of quality as I had thought
Lavender from Columbus, OH
This isn't a terrible straighter, it heats up quickly and is good for traveling internationally because of the voltage required.
I was very disappointed though because for as expensive as it is, the flat iron is painted and easily chips.
I also dye my hair and I like it curled, but the outside of the flat iron stains (I can't get the stains off) and makes me worry about the durability of the product and how long it will last me before I have to get another one.
I have had this flat iron for maybe six months now and I don't mind it, but I don't think I will be buying another dry bar styling tool again. With my lifestyle it seems like it's not the right fit.
I used to love it...
Brittany from Mankato, MN
When I first bought this iron I loved it. But about two years in the paint started chipping and flaking, and my hair started to snag. I would have imagined it to last more than two years before it starts to break down.
Plate went out
Steph from Sacramento
Seems to be an issue with Drybar and their products that stop working. I've had this less than a year and my lower plate went out. Shouldn't pay this much money for something that doesn't even last a year. Guess I'll be going back to CHI since I never had any issues with their products.
Broke after 2 months of using

I loved this and used it for about two months until it started to have problems opening and closing. I am very disappointed
Cosmetic luv from Cookeville, TN
Loved it for all 6 months that it worked! One side of the iron is not heating up. It's far too expensive to break so quickly.

So I walked into Ulta on a mission to buy the GHD platinum pro. But upon looking for it, a store manager said to me "do you want to save some money? You REALLY should try the Drybar iron. it's THE BEST." And it's half the price of the GHD I was wanting to buy. I figured she really must be honest if she's not trying to sell me a more expensive product. So I was feeling very confused and indecisive. I REALLY wanted the GHD after reading reviews, but this store manager really had me thinking this Drybar iron was better. I don't particularly care for the bright yellow color of it, but as long as it really works as well as she said it does.....I can overlook the aesthetics of it. In the end, I decided to buy BOTH the GHD and Drybar irons. This way I could compare them both. I've only had them for one day so I probably should have waited to give a review. But this flat iron is truly REALLY good so far! And so is the ghd, so I'm still not certain which is better. However I can say for sure that you can't go wrong with Drybar. It heats up quickly and glides through my hair like butter. My hair looks amazing after using it and even looks healthier and shiny! I'll update my review later after using it longer, but you won't be disappointed if you buy this (at least in my opinion). Go for it!

I really like this straightener, I've had for over a year and use it daily. It works really well and heats up super fast. Highly recommend!
I wouldn't buy again

I had higher expectations for this flat iron. I had my chi for the last 11 years and after wanting a bit of an upgrade ...decides to go with dry bar but after a couple of uses I decided i had to exchange for a new chi.
Pretty solid iron

I actually really like the iron. I have curly thick hair and it does a really good job of straightening it. I can usually do it with one pass sometimes it'll take two. I've had it for about two years, my only gripe is that the yellow coating is coming off. Soni have to take out the flakes with a fine tooth comb now.
One plate lost heat
Kris k from Dallas
Really loved this straightener at first! I have super curly hair and it could straighten and curl. One plate didn't get as hot after a few months. Returned.
Not good for thick hair!
Taylor from Staten Island, NY
I don't like this at all! I have thick curly hair and it did absolutely nothing for my hair. I went over a piece 5 times and it was still poofy.
bkpell from Louisiana
bought in December and the product randomly stop working. Not only that it would also snag my hair. for the price it should of worked a lot better AND lasted a lot longer.
Didn't straighten that well & quit after 6 months
Kara from Pittsburgh, PA
Nothing special about it's ability to straighten thick hair. Would barely heat up even when put on 450 degrees after 6 months of use. Returned it for a GHD.
Stopped working after less than a year

I absolutely loved this flat iron while it worked...until less than a year later and it stopped working completely. Extremely disappointed.
Coating comes off!

I wanted to love this but the few times I've used this less than a handful since owning the coating is all over the place.

If you want to have the sleekest, softest, most beautiful locks in all the town- buy this. You will look and feel like the queen you are!
Haven't even had it for a full year and it's already broken
Yonah from Michigan
Initially, I was really excited for this. Worked great in the beginning, but as others mentioned, the paint started to wear off and after 10 months of having it, one of the plates stopped heating up entirely. Sucks, it was pricey and I took good care of it.
Mindy from Hickory NC
Bought on Sat it's only Thursday and the paint is coming off. Used Chi for years when it tore up I researched all flat irons and decided to spend the extra money. Not impressed with this product!
Lasted for less then 1.5 years.
Blondie from NYC
I was gifted this iron for my birthday 2 years ago and it died out mid use the other day. It definitely did its job while it worked, heated very fast! Very disappointed in the warranty and run around from Drybar customer service however.
Sara from New Mexico
My old flat iron finally kicked the bucket. I love dry bar products so I decided to splurge on this. It was worth it! It feels expensive and it works great. One of my favorite features it has is the rotating power cord. Your cord never gets curled up and the mobility is great.
