Most Helpful Positive Review No Regrets! When I saw that Ulta was carrying Hourglass I literally squealed! What a great month to celebrate my birthday if I must say so myself! That being said, I had to go out of my way to write a review to let you all know how great their products are, especially this foundation stick! I've always had a love and hate relationship with foundation sticks because they tend to stick to my dry patches and look cakey on my skin over time and stopped using them completely. One of my girlfriends could not stop talking about how great Hourglass foundation stick was so I decided to pull the trigger and purchased the foundation and let me tell you, IT'S AMAZING! I am completely obsess. This foundation gives you a beautiful second skin that blends with your skin so perfectly and effortlessly. It does "Vanish" like the name says. You get the coverage without the cake. It photographs well in pictures and last all day for me. The foundation is also buildable and can be used with a foundation brush for a fuller coverage skin-like look or use it with a wet sponge for a satin coverage that can be sheered out or full coverage as well. It has a triangle shape to help get into hard to reach area of the face or to use to highlight and contour. The one thing my girlfriend mentioned to me was that she hated how fast she went through this product especially for the price. I haven't had this problem yet but I also bought two colors... Hourglass makes beautiful products and for a brand to be (going) completely vegan (which is quite hard to do) and still make products that perform top notch is something to talk about to overlook the price. One more thing to add is that as the packaging looks expensive and beautiful, it is made out of plastic which makes it lightweight. I don't mind it and easier to travel with since it isn't so heavy (to apply to the face).
Most Helpful Critical Review Not for dry skin I came across this because I was looking for a medium coverage foundation in a creamy formula. I have attempted to use this 3 times with horrible results. It doesnt buff out too well even with the brush and it clings to every little dry patch, it sits terrible on my skin. I am 23 but looked 45. I did try buffing with the brush then going over with a sponge and it took off the foundation?? I always use a moisturizer and hydrating primer prior. Perhaps a face oil is needed. I think it works best for normal to oily skin. Aside from that i was very happy to find a color light enough for me.

I bought the two colors closest to my skin and blend them. For summer I use more of the darker shade and opposite for the winter. This makes the skin look flawless, but it will streak after say 5 hours, but a quick touch up fixes this. Everything runs on my oily skin, but this product makes my acne scars disappear. Plus, I can build this up, and it's easy to use. I blend it from forehead to chest for even coverage and this stays put.

And I promptly returned it to Ulta, receiving a full refund.
It looked like a nice colour and consistency, but I was too disappointed to even give it a swop...
Sticking to my fav Tarte concealers- I use 2-3 as foundation every day. Not one iota of a prob. Cheers.

It clung so badly to my dry patches and broke apart around my nose where I usually get oily around the 2 hour mark. The shade undertones were also off, I ordered Porcelain (fair, neutral undertones) and it was very warm and yellow toned.

Didn't like this foundation and I wanted to so bad. Saw every bit of texture on my face. Felt cakey and heavy to wear. Color match from the store was way off...several shades to light. Just way better foundations out there for less.

Let's just talk about the color match for me. It is so difficult to find a foundation for fair skin that isn't pink. Just because I am fair does not mean that I am Miss Piggy, I bought the shade Porcelain and it is gorgeous!!! It is an exact match for me. My own mother didn't even think I had a foundation on. Also, it blends out so beautifully that it looks like my skin. I use a sponge and setting spray to blend it out and omg! It isn't too matte or too dewy and it helps smooth out my texture so well. I really wish that I got more product for the price, but it is truly beautiful.

50+ skin, normal to dry. Really wanted to love this foundation. Tried with and without a silicone based primer. Needed much more that called for to get full coverage. Did not last the day, as my usual found work. Does without primer. My skin broke out and it took a week to correct it. Would not buy again. All that said, I could see this working really well for younger skin needing less coverage.

I really WANTED to like this foundation. I saw all the rave reviews and figured I'd give it a shot when I was in the market for a new foundation. I finally found it in stock and was so excited to purchase it. I even picked up the companion brush! Unfortunately, it goes on super thick and I cannot for the life of me make it work, despite switching up primers, moisturizers, and applicators. I just end up with a streaky mess that sinks into lines and pores I didn't realize I had or lifts away entirely when blending out. If you really want to try it, get a sample first, don't drop the full purchase price up front like I did.

Although this is a bit pricey, I truly love how this foundation wears! It can be worn as a light coverage or built up to something more full. It melts into my skin and lasts all day! I do set with powder to ensure long wear, but I think it could be worn without powder. I think the price is justified based on how much product you get and how little you need to get an even coverage. I just bought a deeper shade to use as contour because it truly is that seamless. Check it out!
As a reference, I have normal skin and don't breakout easily.

First of all it applies effortlessly to the skin with an amazing matte finish! Secondly it is very full coverage and great for covering up unwanted blemishes or acne. And lastly the packaging is so luxurious. I highly recommend buying this product!

I really liked this foundation. It lasted well through out the day and didn't dry me out. As I age I'm trying to get foundations that will be medium to full coverage, be dewy, not dry me out and last all day. This did not disappoint! Even wore well with the mask.

I'm really enjoying this foundation stick. I applied it on top of a blurring primer (on my cheeks) and a magnifying primer (in my T zone). The finish was very smooth. The stick glides across my face with ease. I didn't have any patchiness. The shade Sable was spot on. Once I started to blend it, it just fit with my skin. There was no orange or gray undertone. I blended the foundation using a kabuki brushi. I only used one layer (2 swipes per cheek, 1 swipe on forehead, 1 swipe on chin, 1/2 swipe on nose) and didn't notice it breaking up. I wore Vanish Stick for about 8 hours and only noticed slight oil.

Great base that u can control coverage. I put my colorscience glow sunscreen underneath and it looks great. Plus u can bring it with u on the go without taking a bottle.

Love this foundation. It goes on so buttery and melts into your skin. I love the quick stick application and blends so well. It is long lasting & does not transfer on my mask. (I did use setting spray). My new makeup staple!!

So far I really love this product! The foundation is definitely not full coverage but easily buildable. It absolutely vanishes and looks exactly like my real skin. I do think this product takes some getting used to and wouldn't judge it on the first time use. I followed the instructions to put only a few dots of the product on, but this was not enough coverage for me. I still start my makeup this way though and build it up after so I don't go too overboard. I first tried using this with a sponge because that's what I'm used to, but it definitely is 1000% better with a brush. I will buy again!

I've struggled with finding a foundation that worked for my skin. I love full coverage, but hate the heavy feeling of most full coverage foundations and the way they sit on my dry patches. However, this is incredibly lightweight! And a little goes a very long way! (It works best when paired with the Hourglass Veil primer)

I was a little nervous before trying this because I have such dry skin, especially in the winter, and every other stick foundation I've tried just dragged on my skin and wouldn't blend, this is the exact opposite. It glides over my face and blends so easily, I don't need to use very much to get good coverage, it hardly looks like I'm wearing foundation and it has such a beautiful satin/dewy finish. Worth every single penny in my opinion.

You can use as little or much as you need for the coverage you want. It glides on so smooth and makes my face feel amazing. It's easily blend able and yes it's a little more but it's so worth it. I bought it today and used it with the concealer omg I've never been happier this is a must have.
